Statement Of Purpose For FFA
I have taken many agricultural classes. They include Ag horizons, companion animals, animal science, greenhouse management, and Ag economics. Activities that I have participated in are general livestock judging, meats judging, H2O leadership conference, greenhand camp, ag in motion, concessions, 2015 FFA week committee, corn shredding days, donkey basketball, beef proficiency, 2014 state convention, pork producers booth at waterski days, the pancake breakfasts, and I practiced on parliamentary procedure team. Outside of FFA I was dance manager, I am in 4-H, I work on my farm with my dad, I have a couple babysitting jobs, I work on my SAE with my cattle, and I sometimes play bingo at the nursing home. I think that I should be selected as …show more content…
I am already involved in mostly all FFA activities and I am willing to do more. I am very dedicated to FFA and the program. Agriculture is my life and future and FFA is helping me expand my talents in many areas. I can make a difference on the chapter and its members by volunteering ideas, participating and including the members, helping others and the chapter, being a leader, staying involved, encouraging others to join and participate in FFA, and make the community aware of the FFA chapter’s events/accomplishments and to get them involved. By doing those things it can impact the chapter and its members. All would be for the best of the chapter. To me service means putting your time aside to help the needs of others. Sometimes it isn’t even their needs, it is just to help them and make them a happier person. One of the service projects that I enjoyed was going to the nursing home and playing bingo. None of the elders had to play bingo, they just wanted to and it made them happy. Another service that I did was through church and I helped clean elderly peoples yards in the spring because it’s hard for them to do. It is important for an officer to have this trait because it shows leadership. It shows that they are willing to put others before themselves and help the community. Officers are leaders of the FFA groups so by doing service projects it not only looks good to the community and the chapter it reflects on

Throughout these organizations I am either serving as a mentor or using my media skills. For example, with Chapel Assistants I have the opportunity to help prepare for each chapel service but I also serve in the Media Ministry which is responsible for making CD’s for each service, mailing CDs to attendees, and being sure the speaker gets a copy of their sermon. I love the job because I truly get to build relationships with those that attend chapel. Within the Spotlight Network I am currently a reporter in which I report events that are going on campus. This year the Spotlight Network will have its own shows and I will serve as a reporter of the shows. With Howard Players I get work on my acting skills by attending workshops. Alternative Spring Break, was my chance to be able to spend an entire week Mentoring students at Normandy High School which is located in Ferguson Missouri. To this day I continue to mentor those students I met through email. In the Freshman Leadership Academy my freshman year all year I was taught to be a leader and even had the opportunity to travel to China and provide service. Because I am a sophomore I get to use the things I learn to help mentor a current freshman. Lastly, Matriculate is a recent organization that is affiliated with Howard’s campus in which through google hangout I mentor students in low income high school.…

As I am an active member of the Seneca East FFA chapter, I strive to live and work by the National FFA Organization’s motto: “Living to do, doing to learn, earning to live, living to serve.” I interpret this motto simply: with every new project, you must accomplish it with a purpose. When I engage in a community service project, I have the mindset to put my whole heart in it, making the most out of the experience. Through the values and ethics I have attained through FFA, I will continue to serve my community and world with my whole heart throughout my life. If I were selected to receive the Samsung American Legion Scholarship, I would use the money to further my education focusing in the subject of Agriculture. This scholarship would inspire…

My chapter of Alpha Phi Omega is Alpha Beta Zeta, located at Radford University. Each member is required to get 35 community service hours each semester. Service projects occur around the New River Valley and help a variety of community organizations. Because Alpha Phi Omega has a partnership with the Boy Scouts of America, we host many projects that allow us to help them facilitate big events. Projects I have worked on include: cleaning a local daycare center, performing trail maintenance along a portion of the Appalachian Trail, collecting food for Meals on Wheels, raising money for different causes, running youth programs for Boy Scouts and 4-H events, cleaning our Adopt-A-Spot, beautifying local parks, and many other programs. According to the FFA mission statement FFA provides members with personal growth, career success, and premier leadership. During the year of 1928 the largest youth organization was found. This organization is known as FFA and contains over half a million youth members around the nation. However some members are financially unstable to pay the membership fee of seventeen dollars; to become a year long member in FFA. This is why school districts should provide money for those who cannot afford the membership dues. Students who become interested in FFA should not be held back due to financial issues. A simple 17 dollars can guide a student into a program where they find their careers and develop leadership skills that will last a lifetime.…

During my first year as an FFA member, I got my Green Hand Degree, and received a Horticulture award for taking care of the greenhouse for my chapter. In addition to the flowers and small trees that were being grown, we were in the process of germinating bell peppers, peppers, jalapeños, onion, chives, pumpkin and strawberries. The culinary classes also grew spices in the green house and asked me to take care of them. I managed my extra-curricular activities, my 3.51 GPA and my class rank of 51. I have not taken the SAT/ACT yet. I am waiting closer to the end of the year to do so.…

FFA is something that I love. I have been in a leadership position for the last three years as a class officer, Washington County Junior Livestock Association officer and FFA officer. I believe my purpose in life is to serve others. Leaders must serve the needs of others rather than their own desires. One reason I wish to run for district office is to serve the FFA and its members. Agriculture is the backbone of our country. FFA and Agricutlure offer the opportunity to serve others. In every thing I do I make sure that the job is done correctly amd thoroughly. If you choose me to hold an officer position I promise I will not let you down. You may ask,"Why choose you over someone else?" I will work to the best of my ability and do all…

I feel that I am qualified to be an officer because I was a member, Vice-President, and then President of my high school’s volunteer club (Interact Club). I went to a small, Christian private school, and the club was student-lead with minimal help from our two faculty sponsors. The Interact Club was my greatest achievement in high school. Before my Secretary, and then Vice President and I came into office, even at our small school, many students, teachers and faculty were unaware of what Interact was and what we did in the community. We brought a new aura, publicity, worked exclusively with our Head of School, designed brand new t-shirts, brought in a new executive board, financial sponsors, and hosted our school’s very first talent show where…

Hello, I’m Caroline Woodle and I feel that I would be a propitious member of National Honor Society. This organization does an incredible job of recognizing students who are leaders in their communities. In my opinion, the most influential part of a person is their character. Activities such as competitive dance, FFA, and youth leadership events continuously reinforce my values of honesty and hardwork. Giving to and inspiring others are two of the most important parts of my life. Numerous Midwest mission trips revealed to me the responsibility and desire I have to serve others. During these work trips, my youth group and I met with dozens of people who had devastating stories of natural disasters that had completely destroyed their homes and…

My name is Kaleigh Gonzales I’m a 15 year old sophomore and I’m running for the 2014-2015 officer position of reporter for Armwood High Schools FFA Chapter. I feel I should be selected for this position because not only am I a people person but I am also extremely organized. I think this would make me be able to effectively and efficiently get the Armwood FFA’s chapter name known to the public. I would also try to do this by doing any and all public service projects we can get our hands on, then publishing our successes. I believe that to make a difference you have to be known and respected by the community around you. In the past three years I have served as Vice President for Burnett Middle School for two terms and Treasurer for Armwood high school for one term. In this time I’ve competed many events including forestry, land judging, vet assisting, OCC, creed speaking, and extemporaneous public speaking. By doing this I’ve gained lots of experience and love in our great organization. I believe to be this year’s reporter I have to not only work on our clubs public media aspects but also work hard in competitions to win and better our chapters’ reputation. If I were to describe the technique in which I lead I would have to say that I plan , I tell others my plan , and then I depend on my team to help me. They tell me where they specialize in and what they want to do for me, and we work form there. I try to let people do what makes them happy while still helping me. I can make a personal promise that I will always work my hardest to make FFA my top priority, a position like this requires my full attention. My other activity I engage in is that I am a First sergeant of alpha company in JROTC, this means I am the second in command of one of three company’s in our schools only JROTC battalion. I promise that my responsibilities there will not interfere with my responsibilities regarding FFA. Some activities I want to do this year are competitions like OCC and…

Waking up at five a.m. to go to a contest or even to travel is not what most teenagers would want to do on a Saturday morning. There are a few times when being in the FFA is not always smooth sailing. Waking up to put on the blue jacket and official dress is not what I pictured doing for the next 3 months. Wanting to run for state office, I soon found out that it was sometimes necessary to do. My decision to run for state officer in FFA has been caused through many things, the present officers and my advisors encouraging me, it being a great way to develop my leadership skills, and my passion for FFA.…

    Statement of Purpose

I wasn’t terribly sure what I wanted to do with my life, nor did I have any idea how to get where I thought I wanted to be. My relative lack of passion wasn’t seen as a deterrent in my affluent Texas town, though, as it was a place where nearly all high school students went on to college—it was the only option we really considered or that was presented to us by our families, teachers, and counselors as a post-graduation plan. So I began the requisite search by looking first at nontraditional college environments, for while I had done reasonably well at my large and impersonal public high school, nor had I flourished either. It seemed to me that if I was going to spend the next four years of my life in school, I might as well try a different tactic than the one that had allowed me to coast rather unremarkably through high school.…

I'm in the tenth grade and attended DHS for freshman year as well as this year obviously. I live in Marion Oaks with both of my parents, two rabbits, five cats, and a twin sister that looks nothing like me. I was in FBLA last year but I wasn't able to do much there because everyone thought I was Clarista and I never felt like correcting them so I never received paper I needed but I did get a t-shirt so it was worth it. Also I did volleyball for almost two weeks in the eighth grade but had to quit because I have a luxating patella. The only cause I'm really passionate about is protecting animals from cruelty because while I realize that humans have consumed meat since the beginning of time and that probably won't change I don't understand keeping…
