Patella Persuasive Speech
I'm in the tenth grade and attended DHS for freshman year as well as this year obviously. I live in Marion Oaks with both of my parents, two rabbits, five cats, and a twin sister that looks nothing like me. I was in FBLA last year but I wasn't able to do much there because everyone thought I was Clarista and I never felt like correcting them so I never received paper I needed but I did get a t-shirt so it was worth it. Also I did volleyball for almost two weeks in the eighth grade but had to quit because I have a luxating patella. The only cause I'm really passionate about is protecting animals from cruelty because while I realize that humans have consumed meat since the beginning of time and that probably won't change I don't understand keeping

So, you were talking to your dentist about dental implants and he mentioned you'll need bone grafts before any implants can be installed. This procedure literally adds bones to your gums and is necessary when your gum bones have atrophied in the absence of teeth. If that sounds scary, it shouldn't: bone grafts aren't that big of a deal. And they're often necessary for returning your smile its original luster.…

As of now, I am a senior at Cass Technical High School. In addition, I am also the Command Sergeant Major for Cass Tech’s JROTC program. As the Command Sergeant Major, my duties include being the standard bearer for our battalion’s cadets, and leading our drill and color guard team. Besides that, I am also an active volunteer within my community and school. The last event that I participated in was earlier in the school year as the lead cadet of a concession stand at a college sports game in order to raise money for my JROTC program. Also, I have been a service learning project coordinator for a project that had the purpose of aiding the homeless citizens of Detroit. Nevertheless, the project’s goal was to provide food and hygiene products to…

Let me start by introducing myself by saying my name, Kelly Quach. I grew up in Fort Smith, Arkansas just two hours and a half away from Little Rock. I live with my parents and an older brother. My mom and dad wanted me to have a better education to be successful in the future. I have weaknesses in every subject, because no one is perfect and if i had to choose; science would be my stronger subjects. I love to write, I was a finalist in the Veteran’s Day essay in sixth grade and I spend my free time writing, reading or making up stories. Currently I’m writing a book called “Dark April” which is about all the bad things that happened on April 14th. This includes a long list such as Lincoln’s assassination, the first Jews reported at Auschwitz, the cure for typhoid is created and the sinking of the Titanic. I love to push my boundaries, and try new things like food or books. I love to learn about the world and have been to a few countries, however not as many as I would like to one day see. I received S.O.M (student of the month) four times in seventh grade, making honor roll three times, and receiving M.A.G.I.C student a total of seven times. I was placed into honors English and Spanish and even started my own sports blog. However my biggest academic achievement would be receiving the President’s Award for Outstanding Academics. I pride myself on my speaking skills, preforming in my church’s annual Christmas pageant and even forcing my brothers to be in my holiday plays in my basement. I enjoy doing readings during school Mass. I love little kids, so I took a baby sitting course called Safe Sitter. I read to little kids in the basement of my old church during mass, sang songs and did crafts with them because readings and Homilies are to complex for a bunch of three and five year olds. I went to the soup kitchen in Waukegan and helped out there for the afternoon, and I helped set up a haunted house at the Gorton community center for little kids, even helping re arrange paperback books at the library. I love being a leader because I stick up for what’s right. I’m independent and I don’t care what others think of me. I donate money to charities such as the Hole In The Wall Gang, which is now known as SeriousFun. I also ran a 5K for VIE, a group…

Even the most famous of sports stars need medical intervention when their hips fail, and Pele the soccer star is an example of this. He has just had corrective surgery for a replacement hip received in 2012. A replacement hip means that after recovery you can once again live a pain-free existence and walking will be a lot easier, but you're not immediately going to be able to leap out of bed after surgery and run laps around the hospital ward. Physiotherapy is going to help you put your best foot forward with your new hip, so what does that mean for you exactly?…

PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as the military combat, natural disasters, terrorism incidents, or any major tragedy. This is common in the life of veterans and is the leading cause of suicide among veterans. A VA patient who survived in Baghdad shares his experience with PTSD and explains how he knew he had this disability. Many veterans speak out about this issue and describe their continuous anger, alcohol addiction, and constantly wanted to fight. They usually feel very isolated and distant from their loved ones. One patient states, “PTSD involves rocketing into extreme states of stress re-activity; in the form of terror, rage, and uncontrollable impulses, and plunging into equally extreme states of being shut-down—exhaustion, emotional numbing, despair, and dissociation”. PTSD is about having fear and anxiety, allowing veterans to rage with anger and different emotion. There are many factors to PTSD, which affects others in different ways; or example, using video games to keep them occupied, spending money due to the lack of impulse control because of changes in their brain, and even not obtaining another job.…

Attention Getter: I would like to start my presentation off by telling you all to ask yourselves a series of fairly straight forward questions. I want you to take a look at you’re, any hand and ask your selves “Who’s hand is this?” Do the same with your other hand, and now both legs and your arms if you would like. If I am not mistaking the answer to all your questions are mine right. They are your hands, legs, and arms. What I am trying to get through to you all today is that your body is your body and that a person should be able to profit of his or her own body if done in a safe and controlled way.…

I loved the school. We learned so much about animals and nature itself almost everyday. It soon came to the point when I was ready to leave to attend a real middle school. But I didn’t know which one I wanted to go to. I had the choices of Shortridge, Broad Ripple, or Crispus Attucks. These schools contained grade sixth to twelfth grade. So I figured I would just stay there for the rest of my school years. After being at Cold Springs for four years. I loved the connections that I had with the animals that I encountered. I made the decision of being a veterinarian, and that carried me to going to Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School.…

In my previous Academic History I went to Cape May County Technical High School. Throughout my high school career I was a very contentious student. My Junior year is where I found my love for cross country. I ran both my junior and senior year and it really helped me mentally and taught me that anything is possible if I just put my mind to it. Also My Junior and Senior year I was apart of student council and the prom committee. We put in a lot of time and effort into making sure school events went smoothly. Along with my extra curricular activities…
