I enjoy reading and watching videos about science, for example, medical documentaries or seeing new inventions which would improve human lives or make certain medical procedures easier.
I have participated in the UKMT maths challenge every year since I was 11 and have achieved bronze awards.
I aspire to work for the NHS in the future as I want to be able to have a positive impact on the lives of sick children and be able to support the family through that difficult

    The National Health Service was founded on the 5th July 1948. Winston Churchill was the prime minister at the time .The government decided to commission a report, addressing the ways in which Britain should be rebuilt after the Second World War had ended. The Beveridge report of 1942 (written by William Beveridge) identified five main points that needed to be addressed. These were Want (addressed poverty) disease (the lack of healthcare) ignorance (no education) squalor (represented the lack of housing) and idleness (unemployment). A Lot of politicians were confident that Winston Churchill would lead the conservatives to success in the general election. However this was not the case, clement Attlee of the labour party introduced all the courses of action needed that were stated in the Beveridge report. This is how the birth of the NHS occurred.     I observed different kinds of childbirths and pregnancies. One particular birth stood out to me where the lady was homeless after suffering from domestic abuse. I was able to see the empathetic and professional way midwives have to deal with those situations.
