How will your career choice assist livestock? (Please explain in an essay 150 words or less)
I am going to be a veterinary technician. As a vet tech I will not be in charge of a farm but making sure other people's livestock stay healthy. This is crucial because without healthy livestock diseases can spread quickly and not only harm and kill a single person's livelihood but other farms within close proximity to the infected animals. Animals that are infected are limited or can not probuse to their potential. This limitation and harmful barriers are what I will be fighting however and in the 4-H spirit of making the best better.

As a future vet tech I will not only influence one herd of livestock but many and many different types from beef cattle to dairy goats and alpacas. This isn’t a whim I am going off either, I have always been an animal lover and have been active in 4-H for nine years. In those nine years I have breed animals, bottle fed animals, rescued animals, cleaned many animals and animal cages. I know both the ups and downs of animals and wish to create more ups for pet and livestock owners. Furthermore with this scholarship I will be able to increase my education in ways I would not be able to without it.
