Statement Of Purpose: Stockton University

As an alumni of Stockton University, I believe I hold the drive and potential to successfully complete the endorsement graduate program. I have grown up in an education atmosphere, due to my mother being a daycare provider. She is the reason I became so passionate about working with young children, and still continues to inspire me. Leading up to my entrance into Stockton University, I completed a year at Rowan University and Atlantic Cape Community College. Up until entering the teaching program, I worked within two daycares. Through this experience I was able to work within different age ranges and continued to grow my love of working with children. I completed my bachelors degree at Stockton University, making the deans list every semester.
I graduated with my bachelors in Psychology with a concentration in Elementary Education. I was able to take and apply the knowledge and skills gained from the classes I completed for my degree through my experience through college, and since graduating. While completing the teaching program at Stockton I not only grew personally, but I also furthered my growth into a future educator. I was able to make connections and build a new appreciation to being an educator. Being a new graduate, in search of a full-time teaching position, I feel it is my role to be a life-long learner and push myself to further my skills and knowledge. Teaching has always been my passion in life, and I want to acquire as many skills that will further benefit my students. Although I am just in the beginning stages of my career, I know that education is an ever-changing world, where flexibility and continuous growth and knowledge is a must. I believe Stockton would be a great place for me to grow and extend my college career. My ultimate goal is to be the best educator I can be for my future students, and I hope Stockton can be the place that helps me reach that goal.
