One of significant highlights while working on my project
As a student what I have learned about my career is that it is important for children or teens to have someone in their lives. I have learned that cause and effect is important. Something that has my attention is foster care & juvenile detention.…
I am very excited to apply to Yeshiva Achei Tmimim where I hope to accomplish much study and growth. Although I do not come to Achei Tmimim with any specific goals, I do plan to actively explore the many options you make available. I am honest with myself and I do know what fits when I find it. I have watched what Torah paths my older brothers and sisters have taken and want to check out my own choices. I am ready to do the work it takes to find a path that’s right for me. Based on Achei Tmimim’s reputation, I think it would be the right place for me. I discussed my plans with the Monsey Community mashpia and Chinuch Advisor, Rabbi Zalman Markowitz, who was very supportive of my move and strongly encouraged me to apply.…
While attending Lewis & Clark College I will foster my passion for nature, environmental advocacy, and politics. Participating in things like the Environmental Living Learning Community will provide an engaging and enriching space to form long-lasting connections with people who share the same desire to promote environmental sustainability. Portland and the beautifully wooded campus at Lewis & Clark provide the type of natural environment that inspires my initiative for environmental advocacy. I look forward to exploring the opportunities near and within Portland, including the many hiking trails. The outdoors have been an important part of my life since childhood. Looking back, some of my happiest memories are from visiting National Parks,…
As a school that is a solid segue beyond my homeschooling experience in the Classical Conversations model, I am enthusiastic about the possibility of attending Hillsdale College. One of the more encouraging aspects of my inquiry into the school was discovering the Hillsdale College Mission Statement. Hillsdale is one of the few schools that stand apart from the norm of secular humanism as a driving ideology in higher education. The school’s respect for our country’s Western philosophical and theological inheritance, genuine liberal arts education, and usage of precept and example to instill Christian principles stand out as key components. As with our Founding Fathers, it respects, reveres and considers the diffusion of learning and the ability to reason soundly an essential component of higher learning and preparation for adulthood in the context of these principles.…
The starting point for this work is to ensure that you have a good relationship with parents. This is important because if parents do not trust their child's key person or do not enjoy working with them, they are less likely to take on board their advice and suggestions. It is also important that you show a good understanding of parents own strengths and interests and acknowledge what some parents already do at home. In addition, we also need to think about barriers that might make it difficult for parents, such as having several young children or working long hours. Recognising these barriers should help us to…
When I think about Virginia Commonwealth University, three words come to mind: diversity, excellence and opportunity. Attending such a college as VCU will not only help me educationally, but it will also help shape up many different aspects of my life for many years to come. From the variety of classes to the incredible diversity, VCU has the potential to shape my college years. Since I was four years old, I have always dreamt of living in the city. However, my dream was short lived seeing as how I have lived in upstate New York my whole life. Clifton Park is so closely knit to the point where everybody knows each other. VCU will thankfully change this for me by allowing me to be a part of such a diverse community. I will have the opportunity…
CSVI a - The reason I chose to become an early childhood professional is because I like to be part of the learning process and see how the children benefit from the program we provide. I believe that early education is very important for children and I take a great pride in the work I do every day. With my art education and ability to be very creative, I am able to use it in my classroom and create artistic wall displays, bulletin boards, interesting art projects, and colorful teaching tools for the children in our program. Every day we provide them with paint , paintbrushes ,crayons, scissors ,glues, colorful papers and many more craft supplies and they go to create their own very special piece of art. This is one of many activities in the classroom that helps them to develop variety of different skills they need for everyday life and I get to be part of it. I understand that as their teacher I am a big influence on them and every moment of the time they spend in the school and I provide them with loving and positive environment. Every day, while they are away from their families, they get to spend a day filled with learning carefully planned fun activities, and I am very happy to be a part of that. At the end of every school year I’m pleased to see all of our students to move on to the next level of their education and I’m proud that I was able to help them learn basic skills and prepare them…
To fulfill the expectations of my audience I will provide a detailed resume with recommendations and other job experiences working with children. I will also share with them the reasons why I would like to work specifically in Jackson Road. Also I will share that I was an intern at Jackson Road in 2008 for the entire year and enjoyed working with the kindergarten team. Also I will explain to them what my goals consist of, and what I expect myself to accomplish with the children in Jackson Road. I will give 110% to the school and students to help improve the education in that…
My career goal is to be a qualified early childhood education teacher. I chose this career path because I have always had an interest in children, and the way they develop: physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally, while being in an intimate multicultural environment. The abundance of knowledge children gain in the first five years of life is remarkable; it is…
I chose to become an early childhood professional because when I got out of high school I needed a job to pay my bills. But the main reason was because I loved being around children and at the time I did not have any of my own yet and there were none in my family either. So I thought “what a great way to spend the day and get paid to spend time with other people’s kids.” In the beginning it was really hard though. It was not all playtime, there were rules and regulations to follow. There was also daily…
My name in April Bonilla and I was born on December 20, 1977 which makes me 34 years old. I was born into a single parent family and was raised by my Mother. Aside from myself, my Mother also gave birth to my three younger brothers. Growing up I did my best to help take care of my brothers which also motivated me to get a job at a young age. I began to babysit for my neighbors and family friends so I could contribute money to my family. Watching children was enjoyable and interesting; therefore, I chose to take a child development course while attending High School. Unfortunately, after High School I needed to work full time so I had to put my dream of going to college on hold. Although I had a strong desire to get the credentials to work with children, life took me down a different path.…
I am honored to be among all of the exemplary students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. This is an organization I have looked forward to being in since the beginning of my high schools career. After researching the National Honor Society I have found that they recognize students who show outstanding qualities of leadership, scholarship, character and service. I am also apart of other organizations, FFA, Interact, Praise Band, and Church Youth Group, that I work very hard in to grow in these qualities.…
Competency Goal Four: To establish positive and productive relationships with families. As an early childhood educator, I have to maintain a positive and productive relationship with the families that come into my preschool. Parents entrust me with their children all day and, I make the parents and families feel as much a part of our classroom and a part of their child’s development. To create this relationship, I work to build an open, friendly and cooperative relationship with each of the children’s family. I make sure to let my families know about my open door policy where they can come into the classroom and stay for a short period of time. A great way to get families involved is to have a volunteer sign up for each of our event at school. I find this is a great way to get my parents involved in the school to help out.…
By accomplishing this goal I will have the professional knowledge and slight experience of what is needed and expected of me in the child and youth work field.…
My interest had expanded on a broader scale to include gaining knowledge of the families, cultural issues, and economic conditions. I wanted to examine how these conditions impacted the children and their families. I immersed myself into learning the dynamics of the community. I researched the schools in my community and the population they served, along with programs that was available. I mentored young girls in a group home, and volunteered in a Junior High School, working with a social worker.…
