Explain in your own words the complexities, limitations, and challenges associated with HR and the legal environment. The HR department is responsible to keep record, apply keen HR rules to employees, and monitor the HR decisions. However, HR cannot resolve the problems it has already happened. Therefore, HR should work with the managerial team and legal department to minimize the damage from problems. HR can also work as consultants to assist managerial team to create decisions. This is the limitation HR faces. The complexities HR faces are the complexity of laws. HR should understand each HR law well in order to protect its company from law suits. Briefly describe the following legislation: * Equal Pay Act of 1963
The law that requires employers should pay exactly same salary to their employees, no matter males or females, who do the same job in their companies.
* Civil Rights Act of 1964
The law, as known as Title VII, requires managers to make their decisions based on fairness. Race, color religion, sex or national origin should not be considered.
* Civil Rights Act of 1991
The law limits employees’ rights when they have law suits with their employees for discrimination.
* Age Discrimination Act of 1967
The law prohibits discrimination against employees whose ages are forty or above.
* Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990
The law prohibits discrimination against people who are disabilities but can perform the important function with or without reasonable accommodation.
Explain the difference between adverse impact and disparate treatment. Adverse impact means discrimination occurs when the equal application of an employment standard has
