So, it might not be appropriate for 9th grade students to acknowledge him as chronicler of life as he wrote 450 years ago and leave it at that.They don’t think the modern students can learn the meanings behind Romeo and Juliet. They also argue that students should read other modern plays about the human condition instead of Romeo and Juliet. But, the view that students should only read modern works does not fit all the facts. If yes, why are we still learning history? Moreover, we want to learn more from the history since different generations have different lifestyles. Therefore, I have always believed that a 9th grade student should read Romeo and Juliet because it teaches us many meaningful life reasons, and lets us explore more. It can teach three life lessons. Firstly, Romeo and Juliet decide to get married right after the day they meet which is a good example of the first and second lesson: Don’t make rash decisions and think through the results. Besides, they should think through the marriage since a strong feud was there between their families. They may date for a while first and try to persuade their parents instead of getting married immediately. In this case, Romeo and Juliet die because of those two life lessons. Also, rash decisions always lead to trouble. When Juliet sees Romeo dead, she wants to kill herself and says, "'O happy dagger! Here is thy
