We hear you Youdon’tknowme Butiknowyou (facebook fan) when you said, “we don’t have enough time to revise EVERYTHING”, so here’s a roundup of top effective study tips, including hot tips gathered from our Hotcourses Malaysia Facebook page! See if you can spot your name. 1. IDENTIFY YOUR KEY PRODUCTIVITY PERIODS & PLACES
Do you feel more focused in the morning, afternoon or evening? Draw a timetable and stick to a study schedule. Find spaces where you can be the most focused and productive.
“I think it depends on the person, I mean, in my case I prefer to listen music while I am studying, but I think most of people prefer a quieter environment”.
Antonietta Gonzáles Rosas (facebook fan) 2. MAKING USE OF NOTES
Effective note taking can make all the difference. Using highlighters is a good advice from Antonietta Gonzáles Rosas (facebook fan); also, make a habit to review your notes soon after class, and briefly before the next class. At the end of the week, take some time for a longer review. “…I never start writing the answer after reading the questions. My first thing would be breaking down the question into bullet points to make sure I answer all issues raised in the question”.
Bach Thu Hien (facebook fan)
“Draw a mind map on the topic given and elaborate the points, ask question on the topic you are weak at, (and) prepare a pocket note where you can carry everywhere”.
Edenz PeNgz (facebook fan) 3. SEARCH FOR BETTER SOLUTIONS
If you don’t understand the study materials, don’t just re-read it. Try something else. Consult with your teacher, tutors or classmates. 4. FORM A STUDY GROUP
Try studying in a group of 3; divide the chapters into 3 parts and each member is in-charge of one part. Revise the materials

You say you would like to receive study tips from me. My first tip is this: seriously consider what you mean by the word 'study'. If you have never considered this, then listen to what I have to say. To study means to train your mind on a point. If you are looking intently at an insect on a leaf, and your mind is focused in it, then you are studying the insect. Your mind, Samarth, is like a torch that can be focused on a particular point to illuminate that point.…

My evidence that I have achieved in this skill was in week 11 I use my notes to write a summary of a lecture which I listened to about Jamie Olive discusses the unhealthy eating habits of children in the united states. However, at the beginning of the semester I was not able to do at this skill but now I can use my notes to write a summary of a lecture l have listened to. I used many strategies to develop the learning outcome. For example, I got a useful application called TED from APP Store which was included many lecture about different types such as technology, entertainment, design, education and health so I listened to some lecture and take notes then used it to write a summary. Moreover, I learn how to take notes in a way that is helpful and faster. For example, I use some special letter and symbols to save time and try to break the notes into topics or chapters in order.…
