Study Smart
”Studying smart” is the phrase often used by students, parents and teachers to mean “studying in an intelligent and effective way”.
Not all methods of studying are intelligent or effective .For example, a person who does not pay attention in class or who does not do his homework on time is certainly not intelligent. He will not learn effective and his grade will suffer. The result of this is that he will not be able to keep up with his peers. Even if he goes for private tuition he will be always trying to catch up, if he ever does at all.
So, the first thing about studying smart is to pay full attention when a lesson is first being taught in class. Your learning will be quick and effective .Ask question if there is anything that you do not understand. The teacher will be pleased to help. Do your homework on time and you will never have block of your work. You are ever ready for the next lesson.
Furthermore, being up to date with your school work means you do not have to take private tuition on any subject. This saves money and you will have time for leisure.
Revision book and guides are aplenty these days. Use them with care. Having more than one revision book per subject is waste of money. Also learning from too many books only serves to confuse you and take up precious time.
Finally, know the format of the examination and practice the previous years’ questions to familiarise yourself with them. When the actual examinations come, you will know how to handle the

When someone is called intelligent, people automatically think of how book smart someone is. Book smart relates to how much information about math, science, and english a person knows. In Hidden Intellectualism, Graff brings up the idea that intelligence isn’t all about a scholarly form of thinking. “Everyone knows some young person who is impressively “street smart” but does poorly in school” is the first line of Graff’s essay (Graff 787). Nowadays, it is popular for a person to have the experience and knowledge for an everyday environment but lack knowledge in educational studies. A reasonable answer for this problem could be that schools aren’t tapping into subjects other than the worn out academics that quickly in-interest students.…

But studying is no longer the simple definition of opening a book and reading with notes being taken on the side. Because of our current understanding of the human mind and the way the brain functions we have discovered that many students who would be originally dismissed as “lazy”, “unfocused” or more harshly described as “stupid” are in fact people who do not process data the traditional means. For these people using the simple and archaic form of studying does not truly benefit them, for people like myself the simple opening a book and reading it is not as helpful as watching videos or demonstrations about the subject or listening to someone explain…

Depending on the complexity of the subject / how lazy I'm feeling, this is where I'll end. I have some classes that assign fuck tons of work, so I just annotate my textbook well then work through the problem set. For things that are more conceptual (and I'll want notes to review from at the end of the year for finals) I'll take separate notes on paper. This time, I read the textbook through for the 3rd time. This time is pretty fast, mostly just writing down what I wrote in the margins the first time. Generally by this stage everything is in my own words, but even if it's not, I know that I understand it (or perhaps more importantly, I know what I really don't understand by this point and then…

Begin studying with the information that needs the most work, and save the stuff you know for last. Use a checklist so you can make sure that you have studied everything well. When you think about the exam you should approach it with confidence. You can personalize this strategy and use whatever you would like such as vizualizatioin, logic, talking to yourself or just practice. This will be your chance to show yourself how much you have studied and reward yourself for it. When you know that you have the material down well, put it up and relax. You don’t want to feel like you have to cram for the test. You will want to make sure you go to bed early enough to give you plenty of time to sleep the night before the exam.…

Take notes of everything. For most courses in high school and junior/community college, most of what is on the tests and homework will be discussed in the class. If your teacher draws a diagram on the board, copy that down - it can help you remember the information. Don't just copy what they write on the board, either: take extensive notes on everything.…

Start by reading the exam paper all the way through. You should find at least one question that you are confident about answering. The pages in your answer book are numbered according to the question you are answering, so it doesn't matter in which order you do the questions, as long as you put your answer on the corresponding page of the answer book. It's a good idea to start with the question you're happiest about, as this gets your brain working and gives you confidence. Work through a couple of 'easier' questions & then tackle some of the harder ones. Just make sure you attempt them all!…
