There are many risks that are associated with adolescence smoking, alcohol, and drug use. As an adolescent the brain is still growing so if these are introduced there can be lasting consequences. They are also able to impair your neurons and the connective tissues that you have. Some of the teenagers use these to help relieve their stress but it could affect them by not being able to learn how to make responsible decision making skills and coping techniques. The adolescents will have adjustment problems like anxiety, depression, and antisocial behavior. I think this because when first reading the case study it is explained the Frank sees his father as more of a police officer than somebody that he can confide in. He feels that he isn’t able to talk to him for multiple reasons. His father doesn’t listen to him and this is also shown when it explained how he was in a very minor fender bender and his father hadn’t even asked him if he got hurt or if he was the one at fault. His father just assumed it was him. Frank’s relationship with his mother seems to be better but it still isn’t the best. The relationship is better than what he has with his father. I think that because the case study tells us that she rarely disagrees with her husband it is still hard for Frank to have a close relationship with her because she doesn’t stand up for him. I think that Frank needs a couple of things from his parents in the way of social support. He needs his parents to be more caring and forgiving. He also needs them to be open so that he feels that he can talk to them about anything that he would need. These needs that he should be getting are not being met at
