The Paperweight : The “lump of glass with a storm cloud trapped inside” is a symbol ever presented through the story as an association amidst the characters in the book over time. In its journey from the hands of Clark, Miranda, Arthur and to Kristen who although doesn’t know the history of it still treasures it, the connection between these characters is shown.
Luli : Luli is the name utilized for both the fictional Dr. Eleven’s dog ( based on Miranda’s real dog) as well as the dog of the central antagonist, the Prophet. The connection in names is a symbol of the connection between the identity of the Prophet, who had named his dog after the dog in a graphic novel his father his father ( and Kristen ) loved so much.
