This quote is an example of opinion because the statement can be argued. Some will say that the gap is mysterious, that we don’t really know why the gap is widening. But others, like Rowe, suggest that the gap is known, just ignored. On the last part, he says that we don’t value those “dirty jobs”. Whether it is a garbage man, technician, or even a job on the oil rigs, we don’t want those. We aspire to be famous in the world, we want to be remembered for something before we leave. The problem with that is we don’t need to be remembered, we need to remember what we did. We are told we must learn from a university, and then accrue loans that we must then pay off. Nobody needs college, there are plenty of people who have become successful without college. Sure, it looks good on applications and resumes, but in reality, we don’t need a college degree. We want one, because we are told that it is the only option if we want to
