Summary Of Alex Pereira's Journey '
The Hidden Legacy: Alex Pereira's Journey Alex Pereira was a Brazilian immigrant living alone in his small apartment in Jackson, Tennessee. By day, he worked long hours at a meat factory, and every evening, he spent his free time doodling intricate mazes to unwind from work. His tiny apartment was filled with sketchbooks, design ideas, puzzles, and books. Once a talented architect in his homeland, Alex now finds himself a factory worker in America, harboring big dreams on a small budget. This was an ordinary Friday evening until an unexpected event changed everything. Alex sat on the kitchen chair, and a brown envelope slid under his front door. Alex took the envelope and with a pencil in hand, quickly opened it. The thick beige papers read: …show more content…
Turns out it was the blueprint of the mansion. “How curious, a blueprint hidden behind the artwork,” he said. As he examined the blueprint, he noticed some obvious discrepancies: certain walls in the mansion didn’t match the layout on the blueprint. Intrigued, he began to investigate further. Hours passed as Alex couldn't help comparing the blueprint to the actual structure. He tapped on walls, measured distances, and checked structural columns. By examining the prints, he found a false wall disguised as a part of the original architecture. Behind it, he discovered a hidden passage. “What’s this?” he wondered, pushing open a concealed door, he found a secret small room. The room had only a desk with an interesting golden artifact and an old journal on top of it. The artifact was a small, ornate device, and the journal was written in some strange code. “This journal must be of great importance,” Alex thought, carefully opening it. He was eager to decipher its secrets and learn more about his family’s legacy. After many hours in the secret room, pouring over the journal, he felt a growing sense of excitement and urgency. “I’m on the brink of something big,” he thought, determined to unlock the secrets hidden in the code. Alex remembered the oil painting and decided to look behind the canvas.” When he flipped the painting over, he found the key decipher for decoding. Alex immediately began to unravel the journal’s secrets. The first pages of the journal describe a hidden basement library. It describes centuries-old treasures from the Pereira Family. In an old library, Alex found a book with a missing page. He carefully matched it with a torn piece from the journal, revealing a hidden message. “Every step brings me closer,” he thought. “This is incredible,” Alex thought, solving a riddle carved into a stone tablet. His journey was filled with obstacles, but he overcame them, driven by curiosity

In the end, Alex Bumberg asks Russ Feingold why no one is pushing for a change in the system. His response, though it could be described as disheartening, is something that I can understand. “It’s the system, and it’s the water in which we swim…[they] were elected under the system...It’s hard to get people to change something after they win that way.” It is crushing to think that Congress could be so corrupt. But any system can be difficult to challenge, especially when it benefits so many people…
