In the novel Forgiving Lies by Molly McAdams, Rachel has gone through a fair share of tragedy throughout her life starting with her parents dying right before she started her senior year of high school. Luckily, Candice’s family took her in and helped her get through her parents death. But recently, she was deceived by Blake, Candice’s cousin that she had a crush when they were kids. But because Rachel was five years younger, he ignored her. After months of Blake begging, Rachel finally agrees to go on a date with him. But during the date, Rachel notices him acting unusual. After Blake walks Rachel to her dorm, he attempts to rape her but she passes out and Candice walks in. Blake tells Candice that some guys attacked her. When Rachel tries …show more content…
Mason and Candice hit it off instantly and start dating. Kash and Rachel like each other, but Rachel is not ready for a relationship after what she went through with Blake. But after spending some time with Kash, she starts to fall for him and they eventually start dating. However, after Rachel and Candice moved into their new apartment, Blake has been stalking Rachel and hired people to watch her and her family back in California. He starts sending her threatening texts and also set up cameras in her apartment and in her family’s home. Kash and Mason find out and vow to find him and take him down. But Blake tells Rachel to break up with Kash and to drive to his cabin or he’ll kill her family. Rachel does not want any harm to come to the people who took care of her after her parents died so she follows his orders. At Blake’s cabin, Blake reveals that he loved Rachel since they were kids and he only dated girls that looked like her but killed them later on when they proved to be too different from Rachel because they didn’t deserve her beauty.     From my perspective, I tend to agree that they both work together simultaneously, but it's hard to really say which one is more dominant because evidence is very fragile.
