Summary Of Gordon Williams Tunnels
Intro:
The title of my book is Tunnels, and it is by Gordon Williams. What happens in Tunnels is, his dad goes missing and so his son will, he goes to find him but discovers something extraordinary. My character is Will. I picked Will because he's the main character and once you think you know his life and all of its basics, it all changes from the tunnel.

Body:
Will has many character traits the least important trait that Will has is active I chose this trait for Will because he is not like any ordinary kid who sits around watches TV, or plays video games, instead he digs tunnels to find historical stuff. You can see this trait of will from “The next day after school Will and Chester resumed their work at the excavation”. This quote shows

I choose skillful for will because he knows what type of rock they are digging how to dig it and if they will need any props to keep the roof from collapsing in on them. You can see this from the text “You know this infill is a lot like the last one we had, it's just not usual limestone there wasn't even limestone in the tunnel we just dug, by all means, I think this is no accident someone is trying to keep us from discovering something” This shows that will knows what type of rock he's dealing with and how to tell what type of rock it is. Another quote to go with skillful for will is “ How do you feel like digging under the sandstone?” this quote explains that will knows that it will be less time-consuming if they dig under the limestone instead of trying to dig through it. The last quote for skillful is “We won't need to use any props if we dig under the sandstone it will be strong enough to support itself” this explains that will knows that by digging under the sandstone they won't need any props to hold it up with because it will be strong enough to hold itself up. So as you can see will has more than one trait such as skillful and active although you may see these two often the most important character trait for will is

Death shows his straightforward nature when he states, “I am not violent. I am not malicious. I am a result” (Zusak 6). Death is very blunt and often says things with no explanation. He says what he thinks and never really elaborates. Another personality trait is his sympathy towards humans. Not only is he saddened by our choices but he even feels bad for those whose relatives/friends have died. For example, “It’s the leftover humans. The survivors. They’re the ones I can’t stand to look at… crumbling among the jigsaw puzzle of realization, despair, and surprise” (Zusak 5). The final personality trait is how thoughtful death is. Throughout the novel, Death he makes it clear how much he knows and how he always gives deep meaning about life and how something can be sad but also wonderful. On page 550 Death discusses his thoughts, “I wanted to tell the book thief many things, about beauty and brutality… how the same thing could be so ugly and so glorious, and its words and stories so damning and brilliant” (Zusak 550). Since the beginning of time, Death has been around carrying souls into the afterlife. He has seen a lot, and learned a lot, and through his narration Death always seems to want to tell us something…

The Twin Tunnels, proposed by the Governor of California jerry Brown, are two tunnels that would run from the delta to Southern California. The project would make two tunnels, each about 20-40 feet in wide and around 35 miles long, that would be 150 feet beneath the Delta. The Twin Tunnels will be extremely expensive especially to taxpayers and very destructive to the Delta's ecosystems. Much of California opposes them.…

The first character trait Katie displayed was her fearlessness. For instance, on the first day of school when Shane, Devin, and, Brad were troubling Will, Katie was the only one to stand up for him. On account of everybody in the entire school was frightened by Shane, and no one would even dare to stand up to him. Also, on another occasion, when Will was being abused by Shane, Katie was still valiant enough to assist William, when she knew she might get harmed. Quickly plucking The Cave of Time from the library and opening it, I became enthralled with the book and would quickly flip back and forth between pages, curious to find all the different endings. This book was different, it was interactive and it was the bright light that illuminated my love of reading. By putting me directly into the story and essentially making me the main character, it felt like there was stakes to the choices I made and made the book harder to drop. To me, this book was a stepping stone to reading for fun, and revealed the beauty of the story that books hold for me. Not only that, but it allowed me to hone my English skills, as I had only been accustomed to reading small sentences from magazines or bulletins in my daily life. The Cave of Time, a book that impacted me so much, emerged all thanks to a simple idea that was originally not…

Will was born in Oklahoma and proud of it. The son of a rancher, he was a one quarter Cherokee and never missed an opportunity to brag about his Native American heritage. "My ancestors didn't come on the Mayflower," he used to joke, "but they met the boat." Will stayed true to his Cherokee roots; he went to an Indian school and had many Indian friends. Later he became active in Native-American issues and was a major spokesman for Native-American rights in the U.S. Above all, though, Will was a "regular guy." His shy grin, easy manner, and total absence of sham endeared to Americans of all backgrounds. He had no pretensions, and his pleasures were simple: he liked to ride horses, rope cattle, and read the papers. In fact he often said, "I only know what I read in the papers." In this way, he tried to show that he wasn't a Washington insider; he got his information out of the newspapers, just like regular folk. During the Depression, many people were worried about what was going on in Washington. When Will pointed out some politician…
