Summary Of Sister Flowers

I chose “Sister Flowers” to do my journal topic on. It is an essay about a girl named Marguerite. She introduces a woman named Mrs. Bertha Flowers who was the richest black woman in the town in which Marguerite lived. Marguerite tells us of her time with Mrs. Flower, and the life lessons she gave to her. Mrs. Flowers helped her to become respected as her not just as her mother’s daughter or just as her brother’s sister.
The descriptive writing pattern is used throughout the essay. The details that are given helped me to visualize the scenes in my mind.
