The article is composed of comics, which support technological advances and other strips of how technology is hurting us. The authors bring up points saying that technology is influencing the way we perceive things. For example, one comic shows a woman who characterized as the "slutty girlfriend, and the boyfriend is supposed to be a sex offender, the couple is holding hands and walking through town. The following comic is the same image of the couple, except the "slutty girlfriend's" face is blurred out and hidden. This example only proves that technology is changing our views on topics that should not be controversial.
Without the influence of technology, perhaps we would have realized that the sex offender's face was the one that should have been put to shame. Today's use of internet and technology puts different perspectives in our minds, and in cases like this, the perspective is questionable. The overall theme in the "comic article" is that technology is not only affecting our mental and physical health, memory, and concentration, but it is hurting our communities more than we know. Also within the "comic article", the two authors include images of other authors expressing their opinion on the topic. Although there are many within the article, some other authors include Cass Sunstein and Douglas Adams. Cass Sunstein expresses that technology has been and still is a major threat in our communities. She continues by saying that with so much dependency on technology, the people within our communities are becoming socially awkward and close-minded. On the other hand, Douglas Adams explains that while some of us may view technology as harmful, others believe it is helpful. Adams elaborates that the viewpoints on technology depend on what era you grew up in along with the amount of exposure you had to it.
