In the interview by Johanna Gerechter Neumann, she describes Kristallnacht in Hamburg. First, Neumann describes how people started throwing rocks at the synagogue and they had to run away from the noises which was the screaming and shouting and how the place had an aura of eeriness. The interviewee explains how they run to their school and had to wait about half an hour or so for their mother to picked them up since there was not going to be school on that day. In addition she points out that during that night the synagogue all the way to Germany was set to fire and the Sifrei Torah were burned in some cases and people had to be sacrificed themselves to save it.
