It certainly helps no one when victims keep their mouths shut. For whatever reason it is, not telling someone of a bullying case is not a good option. Bullying could come to an end for a person that just had the mind to speak up. And a bystander who witnesses an act of bullying should be obligated to speak up as well. Unfortunately this rarely happens. Especially in the school systems.
Bullying usually happens on school grounds but away from school officials. It is a frequent act for U.S. students to be bullied and not report it. Major cases of bullying sometimes do not make it that far because they end in suicide or school shootings. But when a
person does make it into their adult years it does not mean that they are suddenly cured of years of hurt. Even though the bullying may have stopped it does not mean that the lasting pain has gone away. Some adults tend to get very anal about things. Having lost control from the bullying, they feel the need to take back the control they can. It seems to become a vital necessity for some. And kids or teens that have been bullied more than once in their life are more sensitive to it in the future. They are more affected by mean comments being thrown around because they have been so accustomed to them. The older you get growing up like that the harder it is to come out of the habit of being a victim. In their minds they are still the victim of bullying and it is not an easy thing to throw out of a person’s head once it has finally
