The author constantly uses terms such as “short tempered” and “shame” which through connoted diction help establish the tone that we author herself feels and is trying to convey onto the reader. The fact that she herself thinks that many teachers are like that is a bias and that in truth we cannot assume that since one group of teachers had shown attitude to students that all teachers do. Then, to further this bias argument, the author supports it with an excerpt from a substitute teacher about how the children felt the teacher treated
