Introduction: Community and Integrative Concepts
In our global society, an optimal healing environment is the relationship between people, their surroundings, and the integrative interventions provided for patients and communities in a culture that supports restoring health as well as the healing of the mind, body, and spirit (Zborowsky, & Kreitzer, 2014). Holistic care in communities recognizes that in order for healing to occur, there has to be a balance between the person and the community and understand that each person has an effect on the larger system (Fouladbakhsh, & Szczesny, 2014). The two integrative principles that best describe community nursing is principle one, “humans are inseparable …show more content…
When comparing OEHs in a hospital and the community, there are similarities and differences. Consider an individual’s social system is as much a part of them as the person is part of the community (Koithan, 2014). Consequently, a person’s internal being has interpersonal relationships at home and work, therefore, the community is interconnected to the whole person (Koithan, 2014). The employee’s feelings and their work environment are synergistic; therefore, a healthcare provider needs to have a well-thought-out integrated wellness plan to heal and cure (Sakallaris, 2016). Also, internalizing healing intention for a workplace or a patient in the hospital requires leaders engaging their staff into the integrative process with a focus on the difference in the two clients: the whole community and the integral patient (Foulabakhsh Szczensny, 2014). Moreover, interpersonal relationships in hospitals require a positive experience for the patient, family, and caregivers into the care team plan; in contrast, successful relationships in the workplace require leaders to engage workers in healthy relationships and positive behavioral changes in safety to promote personal and community wellness (Sakallaris, 2016). And as a final point, the behavioral …show more content…
To transform a work environment to focus on healthiness and safety, when educating managers on identifying hazards and protecting their workers, an integrated framework can be developed with the application of healing modalities during their training sessions (Sakallaris, 2016). I will create an interactive session and encourage interpersonal relationships so that they can feel and see how a hazardous environment affects the health and wellbeing of the work community (Zborowsky, & Kreitzer, 2014). During the training session, I will use interactive exercises, aromatic smells, and play music to decrease stress and promote relaxed consciousness. Focusing on risk reductions in an OHE will result in a decrease in injuries for employees and personal wholeness for the managers who are responsible for the people (Foulabakhsh Szczensny,
