“PROSPECT OF INDIAN SPORTS IN LONDON OLYMPICS AFTER THE RESULTS OF CWG 2010”
Abstract: The Common Wealth Games 2010 medal tally speaks so many stories that should be heard by everyone and be used to shape the future that is beckoning in the shape of these medals. It is a story of India's youth. CWG success was scripted by India's NEXT Generation. We all saw Saina Nehwal win that last Gold. We cheered her, we cried with her, and we were proud to be in the same country as she is from!! India is seen by the world community as an emerging global power and the third most powerful nation in the world after the US and China. Interestingly, India and China are competing with each other in every field but it is a hard fact that a country with more than billion people is only churning very few world class sportsmen who are capable of winning medal at OLYMPICS. There is no dearth for talent as the shooters, boxers and wrestlers were not from a metro. They were small town guys who with their grit and determination had achieved so much at a very young age .But we should recognise it and start developing the hidden potentialities if we want to rise to the level of China or USA in sports. They are our new idols It’s just the beginning of a dream which still has a long way to go and yet to be realised. CWG & Asian Games proved to be a morale booster for INDIA as INDIA ended its journey on positive note and with great hopes and aspirations to make the LONDON OLYMPICS much more successful. Everyone hopes to see many more medals for India in the coming years. WAY TO GO INDIA!!!!
