Summer vacation
I had big plans for this past summer. I was going to make a lot of progress with building my own bike. I was going to organize my life and I was going to have fun with my friends and my family But I also did something else this summer. Something unexpected that I never thought I would really do. It's not anything that big, but I vistited this amazing place.

I went to Dubai! For the first time ever my family wanted to live the country and we were so indecisive on where we should visit and our friends told us that they were going to dubai. Now we had two choices Florida Disney cruise or Dubai. Obviously it was Dubai.
The first place we went to was home we rented a hotel aprtement which was beautiful it was located right on the palm.we stayed home for about two days exploring what's around us we rented some bikes to do that since it was too hot for a walk.after those two days of exploration we rented a car and went to the beach, we got a big sun burn so we stayed one home at the hotel spa relaxing. Finally the trip just started, we went to Dubai mall,( the biggest mall ever!). We did some shopping and ate at This African themed restaurant it was real fun they sang and danced for us and after each sentence they talked with a click. We ordered an ox which sounds weird at first but wait till you taste it, it was amazing! After all that eating we walked the mall at least twice to burn all those calories. Before we went home we walked outside in the downtown area. It was really interesting with a nice atmosphere again we ate and gained even more calories. We ate at this chocolate cafe, it was delicious the chocolate was drooping out of our

The Dominican Republic, Punta Cana Is one of the most glorious places I've ever had ever visited; I felt like I was in a lush tropical island paradise. After getting off, the plane walking into a hut of an airport, I felt excited and nervous to be in a foreign country. My husband and I were greeted upon arrival to the resort with a cold washcloth and a glass of champagne, I felt like a queen. A couple of days later we had a Remarriage vow ceremony for our fifteen wedding anniversary on the beach. Everything…

How can someone be claimed as insane? In the case of Andrea Yates, she was found not guilty by reasons of insanity. Clearly Andrea Yates was insane because of what she did. Andrea Yates murdered her five children. Andrea Yates has thought about killing her children for quite a while before she really did kill her children. Her husband Rusty Yates knew about his wife trying to kill their children and caught Andrea before she did it the first time. Andrea Yates attempted to kill her kids before and she didn’t kill them in earlier attempts because she didn’t think she was ready. I believe that Andrea Yates was insane because she has pre-planned killing her kids before and she finally did it.…

The best trip I have ever went on was when my family and I went to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. My aunt was getting married and my mom’s side of the family was invited to come. We got to go on this vacation last February. We left very early one morning and we went to the airport. It was very cold and the air was very dry. We got to the airport in Sioux Falls and we went through security and waited to get on the plane. Once we finally got on the plane I was very excited to get there. We had a connection in Minneapolis and we had a direct flight from Minneapolis all the way to Punta Cana. Once we finally got to Punta Cana, we were getting off the plane and I could feel the humid, warm air. We had to wait in a very long line to go through customs. After that, we got on a taxi that took us to our resort. The roads in the Dominican Republic are not much different from the roads in the U.S. They still had stop lights, billboards, and the same traffic rules. One big difference we saw on the way to the…

In the world of politics, one of the most important things is who you know. Knowing people will bring a politician success. Chris Matthew stressed one-on-one communication and “retail politics” in this first chapter of his book. He knows firsthand because he was in Washington for many years observing and learning. Not only is it necessary to know as many people as possible, but it is also important to make the person feel that their concerns are cared for on a personal level. Knowing people is not only important in the political world, but it is also important in the real world. The more people you know, the more opportunities will arise for you. In the book Chris Matthew talks about how many popular politicians rose to the top because they made the effort to get to know everyone, especially those who are important. This can apply to any work environment. Networking is a very important part of life. It is important for all of us to remember to treat each person with care because they will potentially be important in our lives.…

After my first week of the Summer Bridge Program at Penn St-Abington, I learned a lot about the differences between high school and college. I really understand in high school that you must be there during the allotted hours, success rides on the teacher, and that we can get away from not reading the text for class and in college you have more freedom, harder courses, and longer hours of studying. We learned how to become an efficient and effective learner. What I learned from that lesson is that, I have to focus much more and study much harder then what I did in high school. Also that college is no joke since it’s a privilege and that high school is a right that we have to go. To me the most effective strategy I learned is how to become a better listener and how to be a successful student in college. The way I’m going to be a better listener is by using study strategies, note taking strategies and go to a tutoring center if I have trouble. What I learned so far relates to the present is that some strategies I never used or thought about. In the future, I’m going to use tutoring center or use the professor’s office time for any question I don’t understand. In conclusion, I learned so far is going to change the way I look at college. I understand now that college is no place to mess around. It’s a place where you chose what you want to do in the long…

Last year my family decided to take an extravagant vacation for Thanksgiving break. We decided that the destination was to be Cancun, Mexico. This would be my first vacation out of the country and I could hardly wait. My whole family was invited and it was going to be a great eight days and seven nights, of straight fun in the sun. A nice and enjoyable get away was much needed for everyone and this time of the year is everything I look forward to. It was going to be cold in Missouri but in Mexico the forecast looked marvelous. We get to do a vacation around November or December once a year with our whole family and it is the absolute best memories. Something about this vacation made it more cherishable to me. This vacation was a little different for me because of the memories I made and the people I met, who are now lifelong friends.…

Laws and regulations have assumed an importance of major proportions in the process of staffing organizations. Virtually all aspects of staffing are subject to their influence. No organization can or should ignore provisions of the law; in this case, ignorance truly is not bliss. This chapter begins by discussing the formation of the employment relationships from a legal perspective. It first defines what an employer is, along with the rights and obligations of being an employer. The employer may acquire people to work for it in the form of employees, independent contractors, and temporary employees. Legal meanings and implications for each of these terms are provided. For many reasons, the employment relationship has become increasingly regulated. Reasons for the myriad laws and regulations affecting the employment relationship are suggested. Then, the major sources of the laws and regulations controlling the employment relationship are indicated. Equal employment opportunity and affirmative action (EEO/AA) laws and regulations have become paramount in the eyes of many who are concerned with staffing organizations. The general provisions of five major EEO/AA laws are summarized, along with indications of how these laws are administered and enforced. While voluntary compliance is preferred by the enforcement agencies, if it fails, litigation may follow. Litigation is based on the key concepts of disparate treatment and disparate impact. For these same five laws, their specific (and numerous) provisions regarding staffing are then presented in detail. Within this presentation the true scope, complexity, and impact of the laws regarding staffing become known. Numerous information sources about EEO/AA laws and regulations are then presented. Also described are several compliance and outreach initiatives by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Attention then turns to other staffing laws and regulations. These involve…

The Dominican Republic was a vacation I will never forget because all the beautiful things that stood out there. Some of the stuff that was very cool about that place was how everyone there was kind-hearted and how they were all so happy no matter what. The people who went on this trip for eight nights and nine days were; my mom, my twin brother, and my aunt. We all knew it was going to be a different experience from all the other vacations that we have ever taken. It was a weary decision to go to the Dominican because Haiti is on the other side of that Island. Haiti is where the that horrible Hurricane happened and that happened a couple years ago (they are still cleaning up til this day). Its hard to go some where on vacation knowing that we were on the other side of Haiti, but we couldn’t help them because the resort said it was still pretty unsafe to go over on that side of the Island.…
