Super-size you Morgan Spurlock sacrifices himself by only eating food from Mc Donald's for 30 days. If a saleswoman asks him to buy supersize he may not refuse. He also limits himself to walk 5000 steps a day. With this documantery he wants to experience the daily-life of an obese American and to examine the big influence of the fast-food industries. In contrast to the 100 million obese Americans, Morgan is surrounded by three medics who help him during this research. After 30 days the result is shocking: Morgan changed from a happy, healthy person to a depressed, unhealthy obese cliënt. The experiment does not only prove the physical but also the mental effects of fast-food. Supersize Me is not only a documentary but also a revolt against the powerful fast-food industries. The documentary begins with a lawsuit against Mc Donalds. Two girls have prosecuted Mc Donalds for being the cause of their obesity. The two girls lost the claim because there was not enough evidence that their obesity was caused by Mc Donalds. The judges stated: ‘If the lawyers can prove that by eating Mc Donalds food every meal of the day can be extremely dangerous, they are maybe able to win the claim.’ Morgan Spurlock is going to find out if Mc Donalds really is that bad as the two girls assert. The consequences after 30 days: Morgan gained 11,11 kilograms, his liver turned too fat*, the total fat raised from 11% to 18% and he felt depressed. Why is fast-food bad for you?
