Supreme Court Case Study
1-Within the following cases, were any of the actions grounds for impeachment?
To my knowledge the Constitution sets specific grounds for impeachment. They are “treason, bribery, and other high crimes and misdemeanors.” In this article I think that the George W Bush appointed treasurer busted for tax evasion was a reason for impeachment. The treasurer had a long term friendship with the President and was found to have failed to disclose and pay taxes on a substantial amount of income and of lying to investigators and destroying evidence. She was pledge guilty, and as the President tried to exclude himself from the scandal, it is difficult to believe that he had nothing to do with this. I also believe that affairs, illegitimate child and adultery,

During the 1884 election between candidates Grover Cleveland and James G Blaine, a lot of controversy along with accusations went on. Blaine was accused of using his position in Congress to pass legislation for his own financial gain. Cleveland on the other hand, was exposed as being the father of an illegitimate son.
5-What happened in the election of 1876?
The election of 1876 was considered the dirtiest election of all time. The two major candidates running for President were Rutherford B. Hayes and his democrat rival, Samuel Tilden. Tilden had the majority of votes, but from Hayes staff it was believed that he could still win if Republicans retained control of South Carolina, Florida, and Louisiana. It was then when he telegraphed to the Republicans in those three states telling them to hold their state. All three states were awarded to Hayes who had beaten Tilden, making him the new President for the next four years. After that it was always claimed that Hayes was elected because of the fraud committed during that election.

The President that spread rumors about another according to the article was Richard Nixon.
8-Should presidents be held to a higher standard?
In my opinion, I believe that Presidents should be held at a higher standard. This doesn’t mean that they are better than any of us, but they have a higher responsibility, and should be treated as above. For me, a President is like royalty, like a King. Now does that mean that they are perfect, and don’t make mistakes? Absolutely not. Presidents, either better or worse, have political knowledge and are the ones guiding us to survive in this world.
9-Name three things that John Edwards was accused of doing.
One of the three things that John Edwards was accused of doing was, a sex scandal that unfolded while his wife was dying of cancer. He was also guilty of accepting illegal campaign contributions from elderly heiress Rachel “Bunny” Mellon. Lastly, he had also accepted donations from wealthy Texas attorney Fred Baron, filing a false campaign finance report and conspiracy.
10-What happened in late

Ms. Baal 05/01/2024 The unthinkable had occurred. A Magnificent Catastrophe The Tumultuous Election of 1800, America’s First Presidential Campaign With the recent election of 2016, I have began to wonder if the political process of electing the nation’s president has always been so divided, ugly, and absolutely chaotic. I wondered if politicians have always been so corrupt and belligerent, and I wondered if there have been more elections where our nation has been forced to pick the lesser of two evils (unless, of course, you felt strongly for one candidate or the other which can be very troubling to imagine when presented with the character and decisions of the last two candidates). Author of A Magnificent Catastrophe, Edward J. Larson, winner of the Pulitzer Prize, wildly illustrates…

It is a common mistake that people assume that Bill Clinton was impeached based solely on the fact that he had an inappropriate relationship with Monica Lewinsky. Some people believe that Clinton was impeached for political reasons, not for constitutional reasons (billofrightsinstitute.org), despite documentation and facts that state otherwise. For some it may remain a mystery. For others who have to live with the burden and guilt of these events, thy know the truth. These people know what they did and exactly how it hurt…

The acts that President Bill Clinton bestowed upon Monica Lewinsky were immoral. Monica Lewinsky was hired to work was an intern at the White House during Clinton's first term. The presidential election of 2000 is as questionable as President Trump's comments towards women. The film reveals how money is power and connections are major components to winning an election. For example the Secretary of State, Katherine Harris was of close ties with George w. Bush. She denied the request to recount 170,000 votes in the state of Florida. The 20,000 supposed convicted felons appointed by Bush's decision is a prime example of corruption. Out of 20,000 of these people only 637 were actual felons. These "felons" were turned away from the polls because of the similarity between their names and the actual felons. Corruption within the presidency threatened the rights of many citizens. For example, Justice Anthony Kennedy argues…

The American political sex scandal that became known in 1998 occurred between President Bill Clinton and a 21-year old White House intern, Monica Lewinsky in 1995 to 1996. At first, Clinton denied having had a sexual illicit relationship with Monica Lewinsky, a refusal that (once his involvement with Lewinsky was uncovered) would prompt to his reprimand for perjury and impediment of equity (Tiersma, 2004). However, two years after the involvement Bill Clinton admits to having an affair with Ms. Lewinsky and as he said “it was inappropriate” ("Clinton admits to a relationship with Lewinsky in 1998", 2015).…
