Symbolism In The Dead By James Joyce

In "The Dead" by James Joyce, the main character (Gabriel) is revealed and described by some literary devices. The first device used is allusion. Due to the fact that in the bible, Gabriel is the archangel that would wait aside dying people and take their soul to the afterlife. And in this story, Gabriel is doing so.
