This is referred to multiply time like when Captain Beatty talks about how montage was a sheep returning to the fold. He instead of meaning it like in the bible when someone is leading he is calling montage weak in a way and that he is kind of stupid. Another point when the bile is used is at the end when Montage quotes words from the bible the talks about the tree of life and the fruit from it. This is to represent how even after tragedy life continues on and that once life ends a new one begins. He saves that qoute for when he reaches the city so he can give the survivors so hope.
In conclusion Bradbury used symbolises in the book Fahrenheit 451. He did a very good job of using it to describe things in the story. He also used it to foreshadow things like with the jets.
