Tale Of Two Castle Bravery

A lot of bravery in a little girl? In the fictional novel The Tale of Two Castles Elodie, a brave fourteen-year old girl, was walking through the town Two Castles one day when she heard a yelp. She ran to see what had happened. A man was trying to end his life by jumping off the cliff. She had a sensible talk with him and he decided not to jump. In Gail Carson Levine’s The Tale Of Two Castles readers learn to be brave no matter what. To begin, Elodie sets off on a journey for an apprenticeship by herself. She is going to the big city. She wasn’t scared at all for what was to come. She does not show fear at all on her journey. She walked to train station, rides the train, and buys a hotel room all by herself. The author used dialogue in this part of the text to show Elodie’s bravery. “Mom, Dad, I’ll be back in a couple of years don’t wait up” (Levine). To be an independent fourteen-year old traveling to a new place for a job was not common for the people in Elodie’s town. Elodie wants to help her family, so she faces the unknown, proving that she is brave.
