What is your thesis statement? ___Public Vs. Private schooling_________________________________________________
Introduction: As a parent we are faced with the decisions of our children’s career path. Whether to enroll our child into public or private school, is a question that most parents ask themselves when the time comes for the child to start school.
I. What will the financial responsibility be for the child to attend public or private schooling? A. Supporting details 1. Public schooling is free to attend, yet the parents may have to pay for small things like P.E uniforms 2. Private schools come with tuition fees that can range from the 100’s to even into the 1000’s of dollars mark. B. The difference in the learning plans from private and public schooling. 1. In public schools you learn the basic fundamentals like reading, history, and math, English, P.E and one elective that could range from Spanish, to home education. 2. In private school you still have the basic classes, but you have more choices for the electives like French, German and so forth.
II. The size of the classes is different which can affect a child’s learning. A. Supporting details 1. Public school class rooms tend to be bigger they can range from 17-22 kids per 1 teacher 2. Private school class rooms are much smaller for more one on one contact between the student and the teacher. Private school class rooms can be as small as 8 students per 1 teacher B. What type of kids will your child interact with on a daily basis? 1. Public schools may be more diverse kids are bussed from all over the city in a certain schools zone and brought to public schools. 2. Private school kids may be from similar backgrounds or come from a family that is very financially stable.
