Teaching Fun Home Summary

In the article “Teaching Fun Home,” the author Domenick Scudera, published on August 28th, 2015. Scudera argues that, many students are refusing to read the graphic novel. Scudera claims that Bechdel’s graphic novel has different things like sexual orientation, gender roles, suicide, and emotional abuse. Universities like Duke, put this novel on the recommended summer reading list. Many students refused to read “Fun Home”, due to violating their Christian morals. Even though its against some of the college kid’s Christian beliefs, they should read it because “Fun Home” is so much more than the presentation of sexuality. With that being said, I am a Christian also, and I believe that if “Fun Home” was one of the readings at the university,
