THE REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURES AND STUDIES

This chapter presents the Career Traits and Development that should be practiced by students, motivated by several different teaching methodologies that will help every student perform better in the field of course or on duty.

The State of the Art includes literatures that are patented from different books, journals and internet/web’s resources related to this topic. This opts to help widen the information that will serve very reliable to the resources, and to make this study valid and viable.

Charles A. Letteri (2000) From a review of a Literature, Charles Letteri has compiled a list of seven comprehension or thinking skills that students can develop to enhance the way they process and integrate information: 1. Analysis (sometimes called field dependence-independence), the ability of the students to break down complex information into component parts for the purpose of identification and categorization. 2. Focusing (scanning), the ability of the students to select relevant or important information without being distracted or confused by the irrelevant or secondary information. 3. Comparative Analysis (reflective-impulsivity), the ability of the students to select a correct item from among several alternatives and to compare information and make proper choices. 4. Narrowing (breadth of categorization), the ability of the students to identify and place new information into categories through its attributes (physical characteristics, principles, or functions). 5. Complex Cognitive (complexity-simplicity), the ability of the students to integrate complex information into existing cognitive structures (long-term memory). 6. Sharpening (sharpening-leveling), the ability of the students to maintain distinctions between cognitive structures (including old and new information) and to avoid confusion or overlap. 7.
