TECHNIQUES TO AVOID LAZINESS AND ISOLATION
Bismillah Al Rehman Al Rahim,
Respected faculty and fellow course members, Assalam Alaikum, today I would be giving a presentation on “Techniques to Avoid Laziness and Isolation”.
Introduction
If we look around us we would find a number of persons who would do anything to avoid work, they would find a reason to delay all jobs assigned to them. Few interesting perspectives on this would be:
“Never put off till tomorrow what you can ignore entirely!” OR
“Hard work never killed anybody - But why take the risk!” OR
“Work fascinates me - I can look at it for hours!”
Ladies and GM, Laziness is the desire to be idle, to do nothing and resist effort. It is a state of passivity and of letting things stay as they are. There is another term which is used while we discuss laziness and that is “procrastination”, which is the reason for delaying some important job due to a need of doing something trivial or unimportant.” For example if you have to start preparing for your annual exams and you delay it for getting a haircut or doing some shopping for your family.
Laziness can also lead us to social isolation which is complete or near-complete lack of contact with society. Social isolation can lead to staying home for days or weeks at a time; having no communication with anyone including family or friends. But, as the human beings are also called “social animal”, it is not very likely that any person can live a happy life either being lazy or socially isolated. The aim of this presentation is “to highlight laziness and social isolation in human beings with a view to find out causes and recommend measures to overcome these issues”, with following objectives … * To study the reasons and associated problems of laziness and isolation. * To study the link between laziness and isolation or otherwise. * To study the measures for overcoming these problems and to find out means of preventing laziness and isolation

If your are lazy you will not keep a job. You cannot support a family and you will get nowhere in life. If you are never idle then you will exceed in life. You will have the opportunity to get a good job, meet a good girl to marry and eventual have kids. You will pay off the house you want to own. Pay back any loans or debt that you owe. Now laziness…

This theory highlights the importance of on-going social activity and believes older people should be encouraged to stay involved whilst suggesting that people will be more satisfied with their lives if they remain active as well as ensuring friendships and relationships are intact by interacting with others just the same. It also suggests that someone who remains an active member of society will increase their health and wellbeing and that own-age friendships should be developed. The only criticism of this theory is that some people are more than happy as they are and want to live alone not to mention the fact that not everyone is able to be as active as they would like.…

It is one of the most underrated troubles. For it causes many issues in the world, though the blame always seems to fall upon some other reason of cause. Laziness causes people to not want to fulfill their wildest dreams to refusing to do necessary duties. On the island of the lotus eaters, Odysseus faces laziness at its most extreme. The lotus flowers cause people to magically lose their longing for home. Sailors don’t have much control over their laziness, for it was forced upon them by way of magic lotus flowers from the natives. My troubles with laziness come from giving up because something is “too hard”, when really I just am being lazy. It causes me to not work as hard as I should to achieve my goal of having a happy and healthy lifestyle. Laziness in Odysseus’ story and mine are similar because we both lose the lust for our goal. Luckily we can both overcome laziness with hard work and determination, even if Pandora releases it from the box…

The social theories of aging can be described as expected progressions from midlife to old age based on social factors. It is noted that there was acceptance that as we approach old age we give up roles previously earned in adult-hood. This idea was then extended in the disengagement theory, proposed by Cumming and Henry, which is the process of individuals withdrawing and isolating from prior social interactions due to age. (Henry and Cumming, 1959). The disengagement theory in this case refers to the process of individuals withdrawing and isolating from prior social interactions due to age and await their death in whichever way it comes.…

Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "So much attention is paid to the aggressive sins, such as violence and cruelty and greed with all their tragic effects, that too little attention is paid to the passive sins, such as apathy and laziness, which in the long run can have a more devastating and destructive effect upon society than the others." Laziness is in fact harmful in the long run. It leads to lack of dependency, which can cause drastic consequences to society. This is why solutions must be identified to solve the dilemma of dependency on others in today's youth, particularly in the United Arab Emirates, where this problem prevails.…

I am the lazy guy that will get down to business when it is needed unlike other lazy people that say they will but never do. I do admit I am lazy.
