I will be writing my final paper on Polish American Immigrants who settle in Chicago Illinois. I will be referring to Polish American Immigrants in this essay as (Poles) periodically. The majority of Polish immigrants emigrating to the United States of America was in the 1800’s. This period was considered the first out of three waves of Polish immigrants to settle in America. The first major wave was between 1800 and 1860, many of the emigrating Poles were fleeing for America because of political revolution in their homeland. Many Poles liked the idea of a self governing political system that The United States of America had to offer. The Polish people had to endure many hardships in their homeland of Poland. From civil wars, political uprisings, and occupations from enemy countries (Germany, Russia, Prussia) invading their homeland. Along with these invasions and occupations came persecution of the Polish people. “This group fled their country mainly because of political insurrections. The U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service have estimated that fewer than 2,000 Poles immigrated during this wave.” (Into America) They sought refuge and a new life in America. During this wave it is estimated that 0nly 2,000 Poles had immigrated to America.…

I liked Ernest Hemmingway’s fictional short story, “A Clean Well-Lighted Place” on page 168 a lot partly because there’s a lot of dialogue between the three characters in a café located in Spain. I viewed the three main characters in the story as an implied progression from youth through middle age to old age. The story didn’t seem to have any elements of satire or comedy in it, it pretty much focused on dialogue. I love how Hemmingway plays with symbolism between the three characters, and sets a certain tone throughout the story. Hemmingway focuses on the tone and attitude of the characters in the cafe a great deal throughout the story.…

Consumers are making purchases daily. There are a number of occasions and reasons prompting people to shop. Special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays all contribute to retail sales. Sustaining one’s daily life through purchase of food, clothing, personal hygiene products and cleaning products also contributes to the economy through commerce. How do most people like to shop? In recent years a new alternative to the traditional brick-and-mortar shopping, online shopping, has increased in popularity. “U.S. e-commerce sales grew from 72 billion U.S. dollars in 2002 to 228 billion U.S. dollars in 2010.” (“Online shopping,” n.d., para. 2). Why has there been such a large increase? Has online shopping increased in popularity because of the fact that people can buy everything from clothing, shoes, toys, and electronics, to personal hygiene items, and even groceries or cars online? Is online shopping better than traditional brick-and-mortar shopping? The better of the two is a matter of personal opinion and preferences. The purpose of the purchase also has a bearing on which method is preferred. Online shopping can provide its patrons with prices, products, and convenience comparable to brick-and-mortar shopping.…

A.Consumer would prefer to shop in stores rather than online for some reasons that they need to touch and feel the material and the quality of the product before purchasing it especially for women. Also some consumer wouldn’t predict their true size, they want try it before purchasing it rather than order it online and get the wrong size or even the wrong product they expected. Buyers also would prefer to buy the product and take it home immediately with them. They do not want to wait until they receive the product after few days. Costumers also concerns about returning their items and get full refund, some online shopping website do not guarantee returning or even exchanging items or full refund. Other reason that some buyers prefer asking some question on the product to the staff face to face not by text. Also customers think that the in store prices are never changing unless there is a discount, so they are pretty sure that if they purchase a product today, they cannot find it tomorrow with lower price.…
