Ted Talk Speech
TED TALK: The Simple Power of Hand-Washing Dr. Myriam Sidibe promotes hand-washing with soap all over the country, organizing partnerships with communities, companies and much more. She is the only women in the world with a doctorate degree in public health, specializing in hand-washing. She is also a part of the Global Social Mission Director of LifeBuoy soap. I could tell she is very altruistic by the way she speaks of others. Dr. Sidibe has practiced intercultural empathy, and now for fourteen years she has traveled to fifty-five countries all over the world, working with thousands of children to get a better understanding of when soap is not used and how and when it should be used effectively. I am sure she has been through cultural shock along the way of visiting fifty-five countries. We take washing our hands with soap for granted most of the time. Four out of five people do not wash their hands after leaving the restroom. Diarrhea and Ammonia are the two top killers of children under the age of five. We could prevent that by simply washing our hands! In Dr. Myriam Sidibes’ speech, she talks about how soap reduces respiratory infection by 1/3rd. It reduces our chances of getting the Flu, Ebola, Cholera and much more. We could save the lives of thousands of babies if we just used soap. She said that if soap was used every time our hands were dirty, we could save 600,000 thousand children every year! Dr. Sidibe has been more than comforting in her speech and journey by saving thousands of lives and sharing her knowledge and ideas on how to make the world a healthier place. Now, could you guess what the world’s best invention in public health is? It is soap, of course!

The first Ted Talk was about ben dunlap and his many Hungarian mentors. He mostly focused on Mr. Sandor Teszler and is the current president of Wofford College. His uncle Henry was living under a death threat from the Ku Klux Klan. His uncle did a very Hungarian act by moving his family to Massachusetts so that he could face the Ku Klan Klan alone in South Carolina. Thinking about it, I pretty sure I would do the same thing being in his situation. Hungarians have their own equivalent of the Ku Klux Klan which I found disturbing. Dunlap states that, “Sandor Teszler somewhat resembles Mahatma Gandhi, minus the loincloth and plus orthopedic boots.” He was teased for having two club feet.…

I watched Sheryl Sandburg’s Ted talk and read this article. After watching the Ted talk I thought she brought up a lot of interesting facts and I did not think she left anything out. After reading the article though I changed my mind. Even though Sandburg did have good arguments I felt as though she left out entire groups of women. Not everyone has the opportunity to even go to school in some developing countries because they are female. How can she say women need to try harder if some never get the opportunity to try in the first place? Her Ted talk was a good start at motivating women who already have these opportunities but her talk would be hopeless for a woman who never had basic schooling. I liked how she brought up how most females who…

Colin Powell life is interesting because he was the first African-American Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff. The commencement speech Powell gives at Howard University show his willingness and determination to overcome challenges. Not letting his race put a limitations on what he could or couldn’t do, shows that anyone can do anything and be anyone in this nation. It also shows how times have changed from the past from African Americans being slaves to running president and doing great things. Powell speech showed me in an encouraging way that you don’t have to be big or popular to do great things.…

Good morning everyone today I will talk about why Donald Trump should not be elected president of the United States. I think Donald Trump will never be elected president of U.S.A as he is making all of these crazy ideas like proposing to build a wall between Mexico and America and making Mexico pay for it. He also always thinks he is correct and has a hard time admitting that he is wrong. He plans to ban all Muslims until he knows what is going on and better security precautions are made.…

In the ted talk video, Al gore starts by mentioning that the arctic ice cap has reduced by 40 percent from the year 1980 to 2007. Al gore emphasized the ice cap’s vitality to our ecosystem. The ice cap usually increases during cold seasons and decrease during low hot seasons. Digital image show that the permanent ice has shrunken by more than half over the past 25 years. A multitude of frozen carbon lies around the arctic ice cap, then it decreases the carbon rise and turn into methane. All of this effects water resources on earth, there’s been an increase of water however when this dries up there won’t be any to accommodate people’s need. Moreover, fires have been on the rise due to global warming. This pattern is dangerous for sustainability development and transitions. 70 million tons of CO2 were added in the atmosphere and 25 million tons in the oceans in the past 5 years every 24 hours. Due to revenue concerns, coal and oil companies have argued against the notion of global warming.…

I know that we’re all wondering who is going to be the next president. I have a strong guess that it’s going to be Donald Trump-he’s all I’ve been hearing about. And it’s not just the bad things about him, it’s that when I ask who they think they’ll vote for, I’ve never heard anybody say they might vote for Hillary Clinton. Everybody has been saying they might just vote for Donald Trump. If I were to vote, I would also chose Trump too because he said he wouldn’t just take out all the illegal people in the United States, he would also make it easier for them to come back in, but this time it would be legally. These are reason why Donald J Trump should be president of the United States.…

On August 16, 2016 I went to go see one of the Presidential candidates and now President elect Donald Trump speak in West Bend, Wisconsin. Along with the President elect, our Governor Scott Walker spoke before him as well as former mayor of New York to warm up the crowd before Mr. Trump came on stage. Before Mr. Trump finally came on stage I, as well as the friend I was accompanied by took in the lights, stage, music, crowd, and everything else that came with the atmosphere of the evening. The only thing that seemed to be a blunder was that he was over an hour late coming on at 9pm instead of 8. Being who I am, he lost a little credibility with me but i chalked it up as being out of his control giving him the benefit of the doubt.…
