Introduction
With the development of technology,

television has evolved to a great extent with its high definition audio, video and 3d technology. The main focus of this research is to find a way to interact with television without using a third party device, just using the hands alone. Accuracy is one of the most challenging prospect here.

latest update in the evolution in this area.
Image processing has opened new possibilities here. Research has been going on in the field of gesture recognition since many years. Accurate applications of hand gesture will open a lot of possibilities not only in the field of television technology but also in the field of modern computer science.

Methods
In the proposed method when a user needs to

control the television, he holds up his hand so it is facing the television we call this the trigger gesture. For efficiency and to avoid potential false trigger gesture detections, objects which are stationary for some time are not taken in consideration. When the television is off or playing a program, it continually looks for the trigger gesture. When the trigger gesture is detected, control mode appears.
