Memo of transmittal:

To: Dr William Rivers
From: Eugene Goncharov
Date: Dec. 1, 2010
Subject: The advantages and disadvantages of owning an iPod Touch vs. an iPad

Here is the report you requested earlier in the semester. I am a computer science major and am fascinated with the fast-paced world of technology. Therefore, I’ve decided to look deeper into the specifics of the iPod Touch and the iPad to see their differences and ultimately decide which one is better overall.

Basically I will try to cover the advantages and disadvantages of both the iPod Touch and the iPad. And since they are closely related and manufactured by the same company, I will also focus on key parts such as their: mobility, reliability, and compatibility.

I want to thank the person I interviewed, Eric Gerren, for assisting me with insightful information and demonstrations of the two products and their associated functions. I also want to thank the community of the World Wide Web for providing helpful information that was relevant to my topic.

Lastly, I want to thank Dr. William Rivers for letting me write this insightful report that may benefit someone out there seeking to find a product such as described that will suit their preference.

Technology is always evolving depending on the needs of the consumer market. Two recently published articles in the New York Times explore the topic of the iPad vs the Kindle Fire. The first article “IPad The New Wave” is written by Karen Shaffer, who has published several novels as well as a short story. The second article, “Kindle Fire or Brick” is written by Carol Lewis, who has worked for the New York Times for over 30 years. Both authors are clearly passionate about the subject of technology. Both articles explore the topics of the usefulness of tablet technology; however, the article “IPad The New Wave” is clearly a better article because it is clearly written and geared to a wider audience.…

The best gift I have ever received has recently been gifted to me by my parents in the form of an Apple I pod touch. The sleek look of the gadget was enough to make me fall in love with it. The touch interface is superbly smooth and makes access of the applications and music very easy. The sound quality of the device is awesome and takes the listener away from the world. It has become my indispensable partner in gym, travelling, walks, and at times even in the class!!!! Headphones on, and off I go. 8 GB of memory offers me to have endless music access without having to worry about the memory shortage. The games and other applications in the device help in passing the time while travelling and my boredom disappears once I get engrossed in the wide array of games in the gadget. The Wi-Fi helps me access internet on the go and helps me get connected to the world, it has Facebook, Twitter, G talk, everything. The applications like newsletters and business magazines can also be installed on it and help in remaining updated. There is no need to carry the bulk of my favourite novels anymore because I can have them on this sleek device and read them whenever and wherever I want. It’s like a mini computer which fits right on my palm. Apart from the utility that it offers, it helps make a style statement as well.…
