Young people who commit crimes as minors can sometimes be tried as adults. “According to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, youths who had been tried as adults are 34 percent more likely to commit a crime again, also more violent ones” (17) If the young person is on the verge of 18 which is considered an adult then being tried as an adult makes sense but, if they’re let’s say 13 years old being tried for drug possession as an adult and get 3-4 years in an adult prison for simply possessing drugs then that just doesn't make any sense.
