ASEAN COMMUNITY AND ME
The Association of Southeast Asia was born by five leaders; the Foreign Ministers of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand in Bangkok on 8 August 1967. Brunei Darussalam then joined on 7 January 1984, Viet Nam on 28 July 1995, Lao PDR and Myanmar on 23 July 1997, and Cambodia on 30 April 1999. The aims and purposes of ASEAN are to provide assistance each other in the economic, social, cultural, technical, educational and other fields. It is the greatest strength that these ASEAN countries work together. And ASEAN free trade area and free tax or low taxes are all available in ASEAN countries. So, there is no doubt that not only ASEAN members but also international investor has garnered and press attention on Myanmar. Being the ASEAN member, the more or the less it can bring us challenges, risks, favorable, advantages and disadvantages to me and citizens.

It is a good chance for improving our educational needs in Thailand in order to exchange and learn about different culture. Furthermore we don’t need to leave our country for oversea studying.

This needs to be done in a way that does not interfere with the local primarily Buddhist beliefs and helps local people by private aid given to build schools and subsidizing local villagers with agricultural and housing needs which were lost when government sanctions were imposed. This would go a long way toward building a relationship with local people and government which would make entering the country to do business much easier in the future should the business environment improve. This would also allow CIC a way to keep abreast of how the region is doing and if or when it would be a good time to enter the area to expand their…
