Those characterized as Generation Y, are typically the children of the Baby Boomers. Similarly to the Baby Busters, people born during the Generation Y time frame had faced many difficulties when entering the workforce, and obtaining materialistic success. A new social trend had formed due to this generation of people. "Devoting time to environmental and charitable causes," (p11) became the main focus of Generation Y, as well as being more conscientious of how their personal money was spent. According to the article Unlocking Trust Issues Between Generations, Generation Y adults tend to be more outgoing and willing to build new friendships and social networks.
