The Beauty of Nature
The Beauty of Nature

The sunset was not spectacular that day. The vivid ruby and tangerine streaks that so often caressed the blue brow of the sky were sleeping, hidden behind the heavy mists. There are some days when the sunlight seems to dance, to weave and frolic with tongues of fire between the blades of grass. Not on that day. That evening, the yellow light was sickly. It diffused softly through the gray curtains with a shrouded light that just failed to illuminate. High up in the treetops, the leaves swayed, but on the ground, the grass was silent, limp and unmoving. The sun set and the earth waited.

On the edge of a small wood, an ancient tree sat hunched over, the gnarled, old king of a once vast domain that had long ago been turned to pasture. The great, gray knees gripped the hard earth with a solidity of purpose that made it difficult to determine just where the tree began and the soil ended, so strong was the union of the ancient bark and grainy sustenance. Many years had those roots known—years when the dry sands had shrivelled the outer branches under a parched ...

Descriptive: Nature Escapade

Everyone chooses a comfortable place to escape from stressful days for relaxation. If a person wants to be alone ,and he doesn't want to be disturbed, he intends to commune with nature.
My favourite place is where cool ,cascading water invites anyone to forget anxieties and problems for some time. It relaxes me like no other place could, A FALL.
I love sitting on a big rock and listening to the sounds of nature that surrounds me, especially during the unstoppable breaking of the dawn of summer time. One of the sounds I tuned to first is the sound of the forest birds singing and chirping away as if they are creating a song in their own way of communicating. After satisfying the sounds ,I`ll welcome the soft touch of the breeze that gently touches my skin, coming down through the trees. It is considerably ,an incomparable experience in a

It was a deceptively beautiful summer night in the month of July; Resplendent and artistic to people with discerning tastes and sensibilities. The sky was ornamented by splendiferous celestial beings. The waning moon was accessorized by the clouds, suspended mid-air in a picturesque, aesthetic fashion, wanting to augment the peculiarly blissful setting. The violet sky couldn’t have been any more sublime.…

Is there a place that you go to just to think or feel relaxed? Everyone has a place like that and the Delaware River is that place for me. When I first moved to Pennsylvania seven years ago, I loved that I was going to live near a river. I had never lived so close to any body of water before. After about one year of living in Easton, Pennsylvania, my mom and I had decided to have a picnic every year alongside the Delaware River. We would sit on the grass with the sun warming our faces and just watch the water in the river flow until it fell down the waterfall. The Delaware River provides a place for me to think and it’s also a great place to go if you want to relax.…

“In the presence of nature, a wild delight runs through the man, in spite of real sorrows” (Emerson Line 10-12). This quote very accurately captures my feelings towards nature. Intuitively, many people understand nature's role in human health. Whether it is walking on the beach, swimming in the ocean, or hiking in the mountains, interaction with nature seems to have a positive effect on humans. The sounds, smells, and sights of the outdoors appear to have an amazing stress-reducing capacity. Research backs up this folk wisdom, showing that spending time with nature can decrease feelings of depression, increase self-esteem, decrease tense feelings, help us to be more caring, less aggressive and violent, be less likely to procrastinate, and better able to work through…

Some people enjoy the beach, others enjoy the mountains, but my favorite place is Branson, Missouri. Imagine peering down from the dock into a body of water in which you can see every little detail as it descends toward the bottom. You look up and see the cascading Ozark Mountains as if they were part of the border of Mona Lisa’s frame. A hush and peace unlike any other overwhelms you. You can hear the calming sounds of nature as an underlying harmony to that peace. The birds croon soft tones as the water flows softly past the dock. As the morning begins, a cool breeze floats off of Table Rock Lake giving the sensation of Fall no matter what time of the year it may be. Your stomach begins to growl as the smell of fresh baked…

    The Beauty of the Trees

Imagine a place with giant trees, tall bluffs overlooking the ocean, and green water lapping on the rocks below. The wind is cool and moist, the aroma of sea foam and grass fill the air, and water as far as the eye can see. Imagine this place and you have the Pacific Northwest, the home of Chief Dan George and the setting for his poem “The Beauty of the Trees. “ Chief Dan George was a leader of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation, a band of the Salish Indians located near coastal Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He was an Indian Chief, actor, writer, and poet. “The Beauty of the Trees,” one of his most famous poems, has an underlying theme that the simple things in nature should be appreciated. The title of the poem suggests the poem will be about trees or the forest; however, it is about more than that. George presents a speaker who emphasizes the connection between him and nature, and he wants the reader to feel the same passion he does. The reader imagines a simple life, a man cooking fresh salmon over a fire as the sun sets with the trees whispering in the distance. In the final verse, the line “and the life that never goes away, they speak to me” (lines 16 and 17) the reader connects nature and the speaker to the circle of life and knows it will all happen tomorrow as nature is reliable. The last line “and my heart soars” (line 18) implies the speaker is content with life because nature is beautiful, connected to his heart, and will be the same…

It brings me back to when I was a kid. Even if it is embarrassing, I usually find myself climbing around on the rocks and wanting to explore the whole area. The time flies when I'm in a natural environment, and honestly it is a refresher. When the author said "It is a necessity" I came to the conclusion that, yes, I think it is necessary for me. While I don't think I need it very frequently, I think, in general, that refresher of my memories of youth, and the remainder of that child still in me, does make me feel more human. I am hopeful that as I get older and life becomes more and more difficult, I will still be able to get that same youthful feeling that many people crave and cannot achieve. I'm not a huge believer in spiritualness, but there is something behind the necessity of nature to a humans mental state. I think nature can be considered both a necessity and a luxury. We need it to remind us that in a modern world, we can still find peace in the simpler things in life. At the same time, I think nature providing that feeling is a luxury we should…

Through my own experience as an avid outdoorsman, I find that Nature has many enjoyable activities to offer. Some of my friends like to go canoeing and some enjoy swimming in lakes, I find that my favorite outdoor sports are rock climbing, fly fishing and deer hunting. From the sweet smell of maple sap to all the little chirps, whistles and squeaks, I find myself completely relaxed when I am outside. It seems too often that the daily hustle and bustle of everyday work and school can leave a person stressed. Nature has a natural way of gently stimulating all of our senses and gives us something new to experience every day.…

    Beautiful Nature

This painting by Pat Steir Figure 129 Pink Chrysanthemum is three panels of flowers. The background of these paintings is pink and the flowers are white. The first panel of the painting has three flowers in a green vase. The flowers are kind of blurry the way that the light shined on them, and are centered. The second panel has just a close up of a single flower. Its closer than the first panel and has way more detail of the flower. You almost feel like you can reach out and touch the flower sitting there. The third panel brings it even more closer than the second and it becomes even more beautiful than the other two. The atmosphere that the pinks and the shades of blue and green with the purples too makes me want to wrap up with a blanket and lay there and just look at it. Its very peaceful and pleasant to look at. To me the artist is telling everyone to take time out of their busy day and notice all the beautiful parts of nature. Look at everything in great detail and enjoy every part of your life from the smallest rosebud to the biggest tree giving you shade. What seems small at first can be something great and spectacular. Don’t waste a moment of your time enjoy nature and all its surroundings. Nature has so much to offer yet it so often gets ingored and put to the side for a rainy day. As we go about our busy days we don’t even have time to notice little things. This weekend I went to the mall with my daughter and she asked to go into the art gallery for Pablo Picaso where she pointed at three photos that she wanted me to buy for her room. It was so cute. This piece makes you feel like disappearing into a different place where there is a breeze flowing through your hair and a warm sun on your skin and these beautiful flowers all around. This painting is the first time that I have ever enjoyed myself fully while looking at a painting. The light colors of this painting suggests something good is…
