The best advice I have received in my life thus far? I have been living for 17 years and I can tell you that I have been given advice so many times, but I can honestly tell you that the best advice I have received is that giving up is not an option.

My father offered me a book sometime last year and asked me to read it. This was a motivational book called the principals of success. This book was full of vast ideas and not only inspired me about not to give up but also introduced me to many more ideas that were very beneficial to my life.

Have you ever set a goal for yourself to accomplish what you’ve really wanted or want, such as getting fit, making first team or even getting honors for academics? And maybe it started great, but then it lost some drive, and then had trouble getting the motivation back again?

Yes it happens and so many people experience this. Everyone struggles with staying motivated and reaching their goals. Just look at how many people try to lose weight and then end up gaining it all back, its horrific. These are the reasons why I say that giving up is not an option and that not giving up is the key.

Oprah Winfrey, “I was raped at the age of nine”, Joyce Meyer, “I was mentally, emotionally and verbally abused by my father as far as I can remember until I left home at the age of eighteen”, Lionel Messi “I used to serve tea at a shop to support my football training”, Nelson Mandela, “I was in prison for 27 years”.

Did you know that during Thomas Edison’s early years he was told that he was too imprudent to learn anything, he was fired from his first two jobs for not being productive enough, even as an inventor he made 1000 unsuccessful attempts to make the light bulb?

All of these people that I have just mentioned have had a set back in life but never gave up through the toughness of life as they achieved extraordinary things. I can stand here for the whole day telling you guys of how many people have succeeded in

I approach everything step by step....I had always set short-term goals. As I look back, each one of the steps or successes led to the next one. When I got cut from the varsity team as a sophomore in high school, I learned something. I knew I never wanted to feel that bad again....So I set a goal of becoming a starter on the varsity. That’s what I focused on all summer. When I worked on my game, that’s what I thought about. When it happened, I set another goal, a reasonable, manageable goal that I could realistically achieve if I worked hard enough....I guess I approached it with the end in mind. I knew exactly where I wanted to go, and I focused on getting there. As I reached those goals, they built on one another. I gained a little confidence every time I came through.…

“Never give up, and be confident in what you do. There may be tough times, but the difficulties which gave you face will make you more determined to achieve your objectives and to win against all odds.” This was what women’s Brazilian soccer star Marta once advised. Never giving up may sound like a goal that is impossible to reach in reality. Although that may be true, in literature there are characters who exhibit it ideally. For instance, Joan Bauer’s short story “A Letter from the Fringe” introduces a figure who showcases these traits. On a somber day, Dana, the protagonist, a high school student at Bronley High was tormented by bullies alongside her friend Sally for being overweight. Although, it seemed as if her heart had been torn out and thrown to the side, she was capable of forcing the two tyrants to flee. Afterwards, she insisted that they had no right to…

I completely agree with you and I see where you coming from for me the decision to increase your motivation is the key to the bringing a greater sense of it for yourself. Putting greater focus on the things that you want to achieve until you actually accomplish them can do this. The stronger your focus is on the goal, the greater the motivation will be. The truth of the matter is if you are unable to keep track of your goals, it can be generalized that you do not really desire to achieve it. Motivation can come naturally, and no amount of inspirational talk will set you to action if you really are not into taking the goal seriously.…

The programs I would like to be in are Computer Science at Freehold Boro, Medical Science at Freehold Boro, or International Baccalaureate program and Freehold Township. I plan on achieving this goal by studying hard, getting good grades, and always striving for more. Another goal I have set for myself is to make the playoffs this year in football. I plan on achieving this goal by working hard at practice and getting all my teammates to work hard also. If I achieve these goals I think I will have an even more honorable…

Some people choose to be weak, but I was a little boy with a dream to be strong. Sometimes the things that make us strong aren’t what we choose, and other times they are. It is said that hard times make people stronger and here are three important areas of my life that gave me my dream of strength: I was abused in my adolescent years, I joined the military as a young adult making six trips to combat zones, and with combat related disabilities I went to college in pursuit of a medical degree.…
