The Black Market Monologue

I was sitting in my room feeling helpless not being able to feel my legs or anything from my waist down. I was just looking on the internet and found something called the Black Market. Then in the corner of the screen I seen a advertisement that said¨New pill that can put you back into the past¨.I clicked on it and it explained that the drug only works on One eighth of the world. I ordered the pill and only cost¨twenty dollars for the one pill.It was worth It,If It could somehow let me change my past so me Jessica Robertson could feel from the waist down It was worth It.If I could not get into the car crash that caused me to be In this miserable state I think It's worth a shot.My Mom all the sudden came in and said
¨Hey are you doing ok?¨
¨Yes mom im fine¨ I said
I called my friend Emily
¨Hey Im going to order some new clothes but don't want my mom to know is it ok to send to your house?¨
I don't know why i asked her when I already have ordered the pill.
Emily said¨Um yeah sure that's fine¨
¨Hey are you doing alright?¨
¨Yes I'm fine and It's getting really annoying everybody asking me that¨ Then I hung up the phone and couldn't stop thinking about the pill. I kept thinking of when I go back I will get off of my phone and I won't crash into the other car. I just kept thinking of all the things I wanted to do. I have all these things I want to do now that I didn't appreciate when I could actually move my legs. I want to run a marathon or I want to go to a trampoline park or go jogging every morning and take in the fresh breeze. My mom came into the room again.She never stops worrying about me ever I appreciate It but sometimes it is overbearing to be honest. I get that she loves me but right now I just want space i'm tired of people every time they look at me they act like they just seen a dead puppy.My mom comes to sit down and lays down next to me on the pink sheets of my bed.
“Hey forreal I know I asked earlier but are you doing ok?”
“Yes mom im doing ok stop worrying so much about me”
“I'm going to worry about you as long as I am your mother”
“Well you care way more now that I am like this’’ she said pointing at her legs
“I've always cared about you im your mother,I'm going to bed I love you see you in the morning”she says as she kinda has a hurt expression on her face.
‘’Love you too”Then she lays down and goes to sleep. I wake up and I text my mom and I text her to come In here to help me up.So I just lay there looking at the green walls around my room just thinking I wonder If that pill arrived at Emily’s house yet. My mom comes in and helps me into my wheelchair and I go to the bathroom and go to take a shower and have my mom help me get into the white shower chair. Then after I get done taking a shower I brush my hair and brush my teeth and I start doing my makeup just to try to make myself feel good. Then I roll back into my room and I all the sudden get a call on my cell phone and I go to check It and Its Emily calling me and I answer the phone.
“Hey your clothes arrived at my house”
“Okay can you bring them over?”
“Yeah but there is one problem”
“What's the problem”
I start to think to myself that she looked inside the box and she seen the pills’
“These are not clothes Jessica this is a little plastic bag with a white pill inside”
“Come over and I will explain everything to you come as soon as you can” So a hour goes by and I hear Emily knocking at the door and I hear my mom go to answer the door.
“Hey Emily”she says excited
“Hi Is Jessica In her room ?”
“Yeah just go ahead and go in there” She comes into my room with her bright blonde hair and yoga pants with her purple backpack that she always carries.She sets her backpack down and goes In her backpack and gets the little plastic baggy with the pill in it.
“So do you want to tell me what's going on”
“Yes,I went online and I found an ad on the black market and It said you can get a pill that can take you back in time.So I went on there and It cost 20 dollars so I said to myself I might as well try It even If It is a scam. It says It only works on one eighth of the world population.Its worth It If I can go back and change the car crash and actually be able to use these”she says as she points at her legs.
“Okay I guess I can see why you ordered It I know that It seems weird that I'm agreeing with this but If I was you I would do the same thing.”
“I don't know when to take the pill”
“Just take It now and I will go down and tell your mom that you fell asleep.Just in case It actually works”
“Ok “ I said feeling really nervous. So I open the plastic baggy and get the pill and I reach for my sweet tea that's on my table by my bed.I put half the pill In my mouth and take a drink of sweet tea and then I all the sudden Pass out.
I start seeing these rainbow like colors of green and blue and red and yellow,I hear big booms that sound like thunder and lightning striking.Then i woke up In the car and Emily was right by me. I said to myself i'm not pulling out my phone so I start driving and all the sudden without even being on my phone I get hit by a car who hit my car from the side. I then pass out and I can hear everything going on around me I can hear the paramedics talking.I can hear the sound of the ambulance Im In and then I wake up and everyone Is around me. I see my mom and I see Emily around me and I see other family I know are my family but can't quite make out the names. I ask If I can be left alone for a little bit. So everyone leaves the room and I see my clothes on the ground in blood and I remember that the other half of the pill Is In there so I fall off the bed trying to reach It and the alarm started going off on the hospital bed.I quickly reached for the pill out of the pocket and all the sudden It wasnt there and I can't believe It. I swear I only took half the pill and my mom comes In and
yells
“What are you doing Jessica,you won't be able to move your legs for at least a month” I realize what she just said and I start smiling thinking oh my god I'm gonna be able to move my legs.My mom helps me up I say
“Love you mom”
“Love you too” The doctor comes In and says
“You won't be able to move your legs for at least a month”
