The Boxer is obedient and very protective, not allowing strangers to get too close. It also is generally quiet so when an owner hears a bark, it’s usually a warning that something is off in the Boxers world. Boxers also tend to be very anxious, but daily exercise can actually keep this to a minimum. A sturdy and muscular dog, this boxer is considered a medium-sized dog with weight for males at 27-32kg and for females at 24-29kg. The boxer is also known to have some health issues such as cardiomyopathy, thyroid problems, and allergies, particularly skin allergies. Unfortunately, they are susceptible to cancer, explicitly mast cell tumors. The Boxer may seem like an overwhelming breed for someone who may not know much about it, but it really is a great dog for someone who wants an affectionate and loyal companion who can play and romp with their dog.
