Although America has made great progress on this issue, but the problem still exists. In 1863 Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation which led the way to total abolition of slavery in the United States. After all these years, since slavery has been abolished, it still rears the ugly head in today’s world in various forms, despite the fact that there a lot of black citizens and even a black president elected to the White House. Racism has been a steady problem for a long time. One of the most troublesome areas of racism is in places of education. Finding a cure for this would be a major step towards ending racism in general. And that was the cause of fierce war between slaves and the white owners: the American Civil War. During that period, some slaves struggled hard to move away from their past stereotypes.
