From what I can understand the Cold War is a war that was started after World War 11. The United States was fight communism and Johnson felt that Vietnam was where we need to start. While all this was going all we still had the worry of Russia and their advance is warfare. The Russians at the time where known as the USSR. Which eventually got the name of Soviets. When I was doing my studying I actually thought they were all different people and was completely confused. During this time, we the United States was working on a dangerous weapon. When the soviets found out they started working on their own atomic bomb. Which in turn mane the United states start working on a much stronger atomic bomb. This bomb was called the “super bomb” which was made of hydrogen. During this time, there was also talk of going to the moon. Not one of them knew about the involvement of Vietnam. Know all three of them knew about Russia, the United states. My mom even thought China played a part in The Cold War. They did not associate The Cold War with the first man on the moon. It seems that the biggest part that anyone remembers of the Cold War is atomic bombs. Nuclear war was a emphasis on all three of their minds when it came to the Cold War. I also had read in school a little about the cold war but I never really know that Vietnam was also involved in the Cold War.
