In the painting by Michelangelo the hands of God and Adam are almost touching which invokes emotion among Christians. Moreover, the hands almost touching brings about an uplifted and beautiful feeling because the painting is showing this spark of life. When recreating this astonishing work of art I allowed my viewer to feel emotion by making the hands as realistic and natural looking as possible. I did so by using the illusion of light to make the image more realistic. Furthermore, than I used that element of realism to my advantage in order to provoke thoughts and emotions. When drawing the hands of God and Adam I strayed away from the classic design of the hands. For instance, instead of using color to show light I used a lead pencil to emphasize shadowing and how michelangelo used showing to give the work of art a more realistic
