The Consequences Of Real Education In India
When Akbar ruled India, people were happy and content. It showed the greatness of Akbar, how well he understood the aspirations of people, how cordial were his relations with the neighbours and how greatly he managed the administration. Though he did not go to school, yet he had real education.
On the contrary, Lord Lytton, one of the best educated administrators of his time, took draconian decisions while holding Delhi Durbar, curbing press freedom and partitioning Bengal. Could his education prevent him from being the most hated ruler?

Education cant be complete unless it leads ethical and moral development of people. Indian education system, in the race of Modernism, has forgotten its traditional value based pedagogy. The result is witnessed in rising cases of corruption, crimes and violence in present scenario.
Moreover, Education can be real if only it develops a child into a compassionate, virtuous and tolerant individual. Real education must include teachings of ancient texts like Gita and Kautilya’s Arthashastra. Such education can revive human values; as a result people would end up being greedy, violent and opportunistic. The philosophy such as “Vasudeva Kutumbakam”, if taught to every child, can solve the problems of deteriorating law and order, increased crime and many more.
Thus Steps are needed to promote real education which could make our citizens empathetic.
At last it must not be forgotten that real education should be given in the lap of nature. Present Education system has confined students within concrete labs. How can such system teach environmental consciousness? How can we get to know how our small action can create butterfly effect over our mother

These changes must be brought at the level of individual to the level of government. The government can initiate with increasing accessibility of quality education through sharing of resources between private and public schools. Moreover revival of Gurukulas concept in a reoriented manner integrating it with modern day boarding schools could be the way forward in providing real education. . Moreover people’s participation must be ensured while deciding the curriculum and education policies.
At the level of individual, everyone must try to teach neighborhood kids during his free time. Concepts like teach India campaign can be built into a revolutionary movement using the forces social media and civil society participation.
Imagine the power of real education if it trickles down perfectly. It could create thousands of Gandhi, Lincoln and Roosevelt. Where one Gandhi could set the nation free, what kind of transformations will be heralded in the society, how the problems of the day will disappear and how promising and prosperous our future will be. With this India can truly fulfill its dream. The dream of becoming the ‘golden peacock’

    I’ve never really been a fan of the Western Educational systems. Students there are bestowed with way too much unconditional liberty. They’re treated like empyreal emperors at a time when they should be ordered to shut their PlayStations and take a good look at their school books. There’s too much rationalism in there and very little humanism, which in a sense explains the reason for the rapid moral degradation among a significant number of students in the West. Look at the list of school related criminal attacks worldwide and you’d observe the US perched handsomely at the top.
