The constitution is once created in 1787 is now still used by the country of The United States of America today. Now a great accomplishment, it took a little more than just one draft to be able to ratify it. The states that didn’t ratify the constitution at first definitely choice right compared to the states that agreed first. The states that didn’t ratify in the beginning chose wisely for with first ratifying there would not have been things such as. The reason is if they would have immediately agreed on the first draft of the constitution there would not have been any base rights that the citizens would have. 1“...the document lacked a legitimate Bill of Rights which would protect the rights of States and
the freedom of individuals.” As shown here it mentions that it did not protect the basic freedom and rights of the citizens. Since the government is run by the people they didn’t really include them much in the beginning. Another reason they didn’t sign the constitution was because they were afraid of the strong central government that delegates in the meeting had created. They thought that there weren’t rights of the people in this new federal government. As said in Document A, 2“View these things, fellow citizens, and then say that we do not require a new, a protecting, and efficient federal government if you can.” These people here don’t want a strong federal government, and are willing to stick to the Articles of Confederation in order that the ‘fellow citizens’ would have more rights. It is connected to the first comment above regarding the rights of the citizens as a role in the government.
