The Cost Of Medical Education
The path to a career in medicine is long and difficult. One of the greatest challenges involved with receiving an education, is the cost of said education. The cost of education has skyrocketed over the past few decades, and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. This scholarship will remove some of the burden associated with going to college. Instead of working a part time job to pay for my education, this scholarship would allow me to focus my time on finding internships, volunteer opportunities, and research opportunities. It will also allow me to dedicate time to my studies which will in turn increase my ability to excel in medical school. The experience gained from these opportunities will prove to be invaluable when I begin the application

In the beginning semester, I will spend around $ 200 for buying used textbooks of Bio Anatomy I and II (lecture and lab). Next, I have to buy the online code of Bio Anatomy I and II (lecture and lab) for assignments or homework as my professors' instruction. It will take around $ 200. With the $600 left, I will pay for my tuition. With the discount money, I have money to save for the tuition fee for next semesters. It is appreciated for me. Following undergrad, I was unable to matriculate because of financial constraints. We were recent immigrants, and as an international student, financial aid was unavailable. To prepare financially for medical school prior to reapplication, I took a circuitous route that would also further my science and patient-care interests. After undergrad, I secured funding for a master's in mechanical engineering through the Department of Ophthalmology to work with low-vision patients and develop vision aids. By performing well, I maintained funding throughout the program. Since graduation, I have been working in PwC’s consulting practice, gaining broad exposure to industries like retail and foodservice. Though consulting demanded long hours, I remained…

My family has an insurance plan that covers most of our health care costs. However, there are some things that insurance will not cover. These are things that my family has to pay for ourselves. These things include contacts for eyes, glasses repair, tooth paste, tooth brushes, floss, pills, medicine, tinctures, and blood tests. However, even though insurance doesn’t pay for our tooth paste, tooth brushes, and floss, we still get them for free, because my aunt is a dental hygienist. She gets free tooth brushes, tooth paste, and floss from the clinic she works in all the time. It is enough to provide for her entire family, even the extended family. It is also enough to provide for hundreds of people in poverty in other countries, that is why I take hundreds of toothbrushes, tooth pastes, and floss with my every summer when I go on a missions trip to a foreign country, and it’s free!…

On my interview day, your hospitality, your determination to your students and your philosophy in educating outstanding clinicians of the future has impressed me greatly. When I came to Jefferson University Campus, I already was aware of the top of the notch medical education offered at Sidney Kimmel Medical College but, I was impressed by the great nurturing environment that you have created for your students. On the interview day, every student that I have met loved their school and spoke very highly of the education that they were receiving. Furthermore, in the meeting before my student interview, when the admissions talked about raising empathetic physicians of the future I agreed wholeheartedly. Although, I love doing research and want it to be part of what I will be doing in my career as a physician, I would also like to be a caring, knowledgeable, and resourceful clinician as well. For that reason, I believe that the education that I can receive from Sidney Kimmel Medical College will help me prepare to become the physician that…
